Forza Motorsport 2 - FM2 Auto-Update #2 Release Notes

However, what they don't tell you on there is anyone with more than 20m credits has had any excess over that limit wiped out if they've downloaded the update.

They've done this to try and level the playing field in terms of who can buy the Unicorn cars and the better designs (not just the glitchers), but in the process they've upset a lot of the artists who'd honestly built up substantial amounts of money from selling their designs and have lost it.

I lost 35m of legitimate credits I'd made from car sales, so just a drop in the ocean compared to some people, but it still smarted a bit! :D

Unfortunately, reseting the money back down to 20m (it's just a reset and not a cap) won't do anything in the long term because people will just accumulate huge sums of money again quite easily, which perhaps suggests we might get another reset at some point or another.

Bravo2zero_sps 21 January 2008 03:35 PM

Not currently but would like to get back into it with the online racing we had on here.

wrxjay03 21 January 2008 03:37 PM

well after sending one copy back to tescos because it kept freezing, the other one they sent me back in july is doing the same, so i cant play it anymore

messiah 21 January 2008 03:58 PM

You sure thats not the 360?

Actually, when my last 360 went belly up, it was when I started playing Forza 2...

wrxjay03 21 January 2008 04:07 PM

well i did think it could be the 360 packing up, the other week i was playing golf & 3 red lights come on  that may just be it overheating though :wonder:

what happened to your 360 then mate??

bob269 21 January 2008 04:08 PM

I don't think it was a physical disc issue, mine froze a few times during menu navigation.

There was some mention on the forza forum that it wasn't their programming but infact the console itself, which was then later retracted.

wrxjay03 21 January 2008 04:11 PM

as soon as the PRESS START menu comes up, i press A (to start) and the music stops and thats that

Maybe your save game is corrupt, try playing it without your harddrive plugged in.

It could be but when my game was corrupt on GT4, it told me when playing? Also, the console goes really quiet, which it shouldnt do.

wrxjay03 21 January 2008 04:24 PM

and how do i play without the harddrive plugged in?

Just unplug it and your console will boot in to a generic profile, then simply play the game, this will rule out if there's any problems with your hdd.

wrxjay03 21 January 2008 04:33 PM

cheers mate, i will try it now then, get back to you in a tick :thumb:

wrxjay03 21 January 2008 04:38 PM

Strange one that, My next thought was it could be a 50/60Hz issue with the display setting but a quick google shows that Forza pops up a message if you are running in the wrong frequency.

At first, I was playing forza and the road texture map would disappear, about half a lap later I usually got an error message saying the disc was corrupt and had to restart the box.

Occasionally it would trigger the RROD then work again until I tried playing Forza 2 again...

wrxjay03 21 January 2008 05:32 PM

it could be the console but it is playing every other game, but the chances of 2 of the same game packing up is pretty slim tbh. I have also tried logging on with another gamertag but it still doesnt wrk

bioforger 21 January 2008 06:47 PM

Forza puts extra demands on the cpu, and 1 of the faults with the xbox is that the mobo gets too hot, solder points melt, and eventually it wont work at all. That is why it's freezing atm and only happens on certain games. Your xbox is faulty im afraid. You've had a RROD so its only a matter of time before it fails completely.

I'm up for getting some racing going again :thumb:

been seeling my house so the wheel/chair combo had to go up the loft because it looked far too geeky in the cinema room (not that my cinema looks geeky )

Boro 22 January 2008 12:05 AM

I'd be up for some races too!

How did it work before?

Neanderthal 22 January 2008 10:40 AM

Me too, bought the car and track packs but not really done them justice yet.
My 360 went through a stage of freezing with Forza 2 (look back on any of the SN F2 challenge threads!) but then it was alright. That must have been 4/5 months ago.
Sadly, my launch 360 is going back for repair :(

StickyMicky 22 January 2008 11:02 AM

i`m up for bringing the carlton gsi police car out for some SN car chases again :D
