I agree we need a clear out, but it should not be for funds FFS by my calculations SAF has over 100 mill in the transfer kitty, but I think we all know the Glazers snaffled that all back :(.

I agree with SAF Villa is not worth paying 40 mill for at 28, I'd like to see David Silva and Ashley Young, personally I'd keep Nani as he has improved this season and you have to hope another year a little more maturity and he'll be getting there, expect more from Valencia as well, probably the most impressive player we've had this season bar Rooney..

Berba can stay for one more season and he can takes the Scholes role in midfield

Funkii Munkii 12 April 2010 12:02 AM

Quality double post :)

STi wanna Subaru 12 April 2010 12:09 AM

I don't rate Young and agree theres no value in David Villa for the fees mentioned. I think lessons have to be learnt on expensive players of a certain age. Berbatov is not a lead the line player and is better playing in the hole as they call it. I also agree Nani is improving but still frustrating as hell at times. it's his brain that lets him down.

A quality RB is needed, a creative CM and a run in behind Striker..... for me the players that fit that bill all play for Inter. Maicon, sneijder and Eto'o.

I would not be surprised if Fergie announced his retirement at the end of this season either.

I know what you mean, I just cant see him leaving United when they may be on the decline, not his style, but if the yanks have taken all the money and left him with peanuts then he's fooked, but I still think it would kill him to leave United in that state, afterall he is the reason they are what they are today.

Liverpool have conceded 4th so will rest players for your trip up there. United are playing for 2nd place now with Arsenal IMO. Chelsea have the best squad currently so will be deserved although I think the standard of the prem has fallen.

They'll still want to win though?

In my opinion Berbatov has had enough time to adjust to Man Utd.
It hasn't worked fullstop, nor do I think I can work sadly - he wasn't cheap :(
Can we find someone wide eyed enough to buy him though?

Although we could, and have done, worse.

Had this been at Old Trafford they'd have all been screaming about a bent ref and his watch blah blah blah.

Sets up the title race nicely.

Wouldn't that be nice, if they're in a postion to challenge for that 4th spot then there's a chance, if they are not I just cant see them trying too hard, professionals or not.

More_Boost 18 April 2010 09:37 AM

Liverpool could be in a position where they may need to finish above Everton if they drop anymore points.

Do you think that Sunderland are going to try too hard against Utd in 2 weeks,I DON'T.

ash1 18 April 2010 12:28 PM

I wont be too dissapointed if we lose to chelsea. after all 4th place is beyond us and I'm not overly keen on the europa milk cup.

97TURBO 18 April 2010 08:56 PM

I think most Liverpool fans will demand a performance from the team, regardless of who it helps.

belliott69 18 April 2010 09:29 PM

if liverpool don't get a result there you can forget about the next couple of years, they'll be no belief from the fans, players and owners. will be a slippery slope to mid table football then and life without torres and gerrard.

great result by wigan today that at least lets united have second. my worst problem now is that i told a few of my mates that if tottenham had beaten chelsea and united win the league i will drive to white hart lane and buy a spurs shirt and wear it 3 days a week for a month.

A small price to pay ! :D

ash1 18 April 2010 10:43 PM

Torres ruled out for rest of season. not sure how one game will mean we'll be mid table, bizarre comment.

Hoping rafa will play some of the kids, martin kelly and pacheco for a start. May as well give Skrtel a run out as well.

STi wanna Subaru 18 April 2010 11:01 PM

tut tut. I hope the FA does them for fielding a weakened side in that case..... actually they could probably do them for that a lot of games this season :D
