Hi Tim

I have just read your reply and I notice you now have some new wheels in a nice shade of gold. Have you done anything else with the brakes yet.
I will give you a call...

I also drive in the Reading area, between Windlesham and Twyford to work in a Silver SIDC stickered (subs in the post!) 95 WRX. I often see a couple of Scoobies during the journey.

V697DMO 27 January 2000 08:24 PM

anyone heard anymore about a local meet ?
I started this post to get one going and a few said it was coming (SIDC official ?) any news

I heard (or read in SIDC newsletter 'True grip') that flyers were available to slip under another scoobs wiper when spotted, how do you get these, or should I just print some up at work (SIDC member has spotted you, contact details, etc)

Andy Brady 27 January 2000 09:51 PM

I live in Reading but cycle to work (it's
quicker). Occasionally drive and
can be seen Church Road, Wilderness Road
Shinfield Road. Otherwise Wokingham Road
A4, Henley.

4dr DBM Turbo with Scoobysport BB.

I am the one revving for "no apparant
reason".

If I don't wave, I didn't see you.

Any meets (at pubs) religously attended.

Andy

Any of you mob used SGT in Taplow to service your Scoobs? If so, what are they like? Good value/service etc?

hutton_d 28 January 2000 10:15 AM

Hmmm. SGT... Hmmm.... I've had a couple of services there and they do the job - prices are average to high from other comments I've seen on the BBS.

BUT I will never use them again! I ordered a load of bits last June - nothing major, just things like a new bolt for the air filter cover as theb 2nd hand Scoob I bought was missing one. In the meantime I put a bog standard one in. Kept getting the run around for months! Their computer was down, Subarau said they were 'on the way', they were revamping the showroom, etc etc. I got most of the bits in November. I got the final parts this January!

You can accept 'the computer is down' once but not every other time you ring up. My business is going elsewhere.

Dave

Scoobymania have a premises in Maidenhead and I understand they will be doing servicing as well - I have been taking my car to SGT and to be honest do not have any complaints about them - they are fair to reasonable in comparison.

But I now plan to take my car to Scoobymania in future for everything including servicing,
I am sure Ben will correct me if I'm wrong on the servicing score.

PS: Hi Dave haven't seen you at all this week, however did see a green Scoob doing an impression of an ice cube yesterday heading out of Maidenhead - he waved.

I work in Hare Hatch and Bracknell ... drive from Edenbridge everyday:

Black WRX Sti Type-R .. R247 ...

Steve.

hutton_d 31 January 2000 01:58 PM

Hi Penni,

Wasn't me - I use the old *warm water* trick to defrost the windows. Saves all that scraping - and you get clear windows from the start of your journey...

If there is another Reading meet you can count me in. The last one was excellent.

SKELBO 01 February 2000 02:14 PM

I'm in Flackwell Heath, near High Wycombe, but collected my RB5 (T442 LBL) from Lancasters near Reading a couple of weeks back. Have been in Reading for a few days since. We have a beauty of a silver 2 door STi here in the village, and a 22B passed through recently.

AND 01 February 2000 05:41 PM

I work in TVP, and commute from Henley.

Siver WRX (93),with a Japanese Spider in the double glazed back window! A warning to theives?

I've just had the car serviced at the Crowne Motor Company in Henley. They seem to have done a good job, but £35 an hour, plus VAT, was a shock. Took 6 hours, I had an exhaust fitted from the turbo back though.

beaker 01 February 2000 05:46 PM

i get my car serviced at SGT, no problems as yet went into collect a new rear break light for my spoiler and their computer system did actually crash there and then. oh well.

I too working at O***le TVP 560. in our car park alone there are 3 UK's, 1 STIv wagon, 1 sport + my silver sti2. commute thru winnersh, aborfield areas. see two scoobys most days red MY97/8ish and black MY99, both wave so thats nice. gives you a nice warm squishy feeling (maybe not)

Richard Anders 01 February 2000 07:15 PM

Any crook looking to nick a scoob would have a field day with all this http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif !!

V697DMO 01 February 2000 09:59 PM

The 'crook field day' is a fair point, but then again they would probably think twice givenwhat this lot would do to them.

I suggest not disclosing where you leave your car unattended if you can avoid it
