So you'd like to operate the labjack relays based on thresholds for diagnostic parameters, yes ? Sounds like a good idea. You could use it to trigger nitrous, water spray & water injection. > YES,YES and YES among other "things" that could be initiated through math functions like "scramble overboost". LOL |
LOL...thanks, for some reason I did not see it there, I saw a double post of the one below it at first, sorry and thanks :D
Cheers, Ray |
is there a way to get the dyno results from old .csv logs?
|
Hey,
I did a run with my JDM STI-7 full turbo back catless zorst (ScoobySport and 1.25mm restrictor), full tank of gas. Used 1520KG total weight (1,430 car + 90 driver and bits and bobs). Changed the tyres to the stock JDM 225 45 17. Did the run in 3rd gear. I want to post the results. How do I post the whole screen shots like others have done on this thread ? Cheers, Ray |
No, you need a very large number of RPM data values for accurate figures. The dyno feature has specifically been written to do this.
Steve |
Here are the results; however, I would still like to post the actual "hp and torque chart curves"...?
Cheers, Ray Dyno Test: C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\3rd gear.DDF ========================================== Maximum Wheel Power: 229.7 BHP @ 6511 RPM Maximum Wheel Torque: 207.2 LbFt @ 4906 RPM Power to weight ratio: 151.1 BHP per ton Terminal velocity due to power: 170.8 mph In Gear Acceleration: 30 - 50mph = 2.9 seconds 40 - 60mph = 2.4 seconds 50 - 70mph = 2.5 seconds Vehicle Mass: 1520kg Drag Co-efficient: 0.35 Frontal Area: 2.20 square metres Wheel/Tyre Setup: 225/45/17 Rev Limit: 8200 Test gear: 3 Max Speed of gear: 89 mph Are these any good ? Can some give a rough estimate of the bhp and torque at the flywheel from these figures ? Thanks :D |
Not sure how it will compare with DD but I use +22.5% to my PAW to get PAF from my AP22 figures. It ties up well with rolling road data (as long as it's not wheelspinning  )

To capture the picture, you need to hit alt-printscreen while the window is active. Then go into paint and hit edit->paste. Then save the image as a GIF format. Next, put the image on a web site somewhere - anywhere will do. Then you need to link to that picture in your scoobynet post using the following format:
{IMG}http://yourwebsite.co.uk/piccyname.gif{/IMG} You must replace the curly brackets that I've used above with square brackets - same key without using shift. Alternatively email it to me at steve@ukmail.org and I'll put it up. |
Thanks Stephen, I will try it out in later today.
Andy F, I hope it is not just 22.5% increase as that would put me somewhere around 280 bhp and 250 ft. lbs. which is below what the stock should be ! Any other STi-7 owners with DD out there can post their stats please. Cheers, Ray |
My G-tec pro shows 257whp and on the rollers it showed 260whp
But my flywheel output was only 302hp?????. So that is only +15%!!. Skassa |
Denmark, what car, mods etc ?
Cheers, Ray |
Ray,
My99 supersprint manifold/uppipe,KN 57-kit,IHIvf29,custom DP,HKS hiper,fuelpump,parallel fuelrail,waterspray and linkecu holding 1,2bar redline. Skassa |
Thanks Denmark.
Any other STI-7 owners out there with DD that have a bhp and torque result they can post. Come on gents I am a little worried about my cars performance. Cheers, Ray |
I'll have a couple once the bloody snow clears up :)
Richard |
Good stuff....looking forward to the results, do a 3rd gear test matey so we can compare like for like :D
Cheers, Ray |
Look out for third gear  :(
|
John we should be ok with our tiny power :D and super strong STI-7 gear boxes :D
Cheers, Ray PS: Sorry to hear about your broken gear; however, what do you expect runnning sick amounts of power :D |
Stephen.
Many thanks for your latest upgrade. Iīm stunned! You asked for some feed-back regarding the DD/RD so here I go; What I really miss is a white/lightgrey background-color in the graphs or, at least, an option to change the color Since I do a lot of graph printouts, that would save me a bundle in ink/toner costs. Thatīs just a thought cheers//Roger |
Hi ya Stephen, Do you think you could drop me a mail as I need to ask you something..
Cheers Mark |
RogerO: It's on the to do list.
Mark: Mail us at ecutek Razor: There's nothing wrong with your car's power figure. 230 WHP is around 310 at the flywheel and is a good figure. Denmark: Something is wrong (in the calcs) if working back from your G-Tec & dyno run gives 15% losses. You'd be very lucky to lose that little on a RWD car. 25-35% is probably more realistic for permanent 4WD. My car is 227BHP ATW and 312 Flywheel, however rollers vary. Let's try to ignore flywheel power. It's very hard to calculate accurately. If we are all comparing wheel figures then the comparisons are 'real world'. This is why rolling road figures vary so much. The wheel figures they get are (unless badly calibrated) very similar. It is once you add the losses (to get flywheel power) that things start to vary wildly. You can't definitely calculate rolling losses from a coast down test, since the drivetrain is no longer under load. All dynos use fudge factors to account for this. The brand of fudge alters the result. If any of you have some nice dyno runs (3rd WRX or 3rd/4th on STI) then please mail them to EcuTek and I'll put them up on the site for all to see. Please fill in the comment field so we all know why it went so fast ! Some runs of entirely standard cars would be great too, if there are any out there. This will give everyone a good baseline to go by. Cheers Steve |
310 bhp ..yipeee I like that :D Need to get my torque up a bit though, seems pretty far behind the bhp. Guess I need a remap to take advantage of the SS decat. Also, if you look at my bhp and torque curves I am sure the power could be made to come on much sooner, again a remap should sort it out.
Thanks again Stephen :D Ray |
Excellent work Steve - you've given me a couple of ideas for Data Log Lab! I hope our little chat back in November helped you out!
If any Link owners are feeling left out, don't worry - Data Log Lab will be available to download for a 30-day free trial from Monday 3rd Feb and offers this same invaluable tuning tool! http://www.dataloglab.com/ Glenn Miata Link Lab Support http://www.miatalinklab.com/ |
Here's Razor's dyno run compared with mine...
http://www.ecutek.com/developments/dyno5.png The low down torque on my car comes from the maxim racing manifold I bought from PE, plus a fair bit of mapping. STIs still rev higher though. Steve [Edited by StephenDone - 1/30/2003 6:42:33 PM] |
Hi Glenn,
>Excellent work Steve - you've given me a couple of ideas >for Data Log Lab! > Thanks. I'll have to see if there's anything I can lift from yours too :) >I hope our little chat back in November helped you out! > Yes it did - I decided once and for not to implement rolling loss calcs :) The rest is pure physics - no fudge factors were used in the making of this product. May contain nuts. Always read the label. Steve |
We're getting very similar drive train losses across the ECUs - typically 80 hp - so that proves consistency. I have a log of a 350 bhp which calculates out at a little under 270 hp at the wheels.
Are those figures typical of most 4-wheel drive systems? I see approx 25 hp loss for 2-wheel drive. I've heard that it's a pretty consistant figure for a given drive-train regardless of power developed, as it's more a function of RPM than the torque going though. Glenn |
I did a spin with a comletely standard STi8 Euro spec.:
3rd gear: 207,2 BHP@5943 RPM 207,3 LbFt@4914 RPM I used 1500 kg for the weight of the car with only myself (85 kg with clothing) in it. I assume this weight should be O.K. Mark Verhoeven. |
EMS, thanks for the post. Do you know what the quoted figures at the wheel for your car is ?
Also, how many kms or miles does your car have ? Cheers, Ray |
Some data for the '00 S-Turbo Forester :
Vehicle mass (kg)= 1445 Frontal area (m3)= 2.4 Drag = 0.39 (standard), 0.40 (brush Guard + spoiler) Diff = 4.444 Rest of gears = as standard Turbo tires= 215/60/16 (standard) Steve, i'm 25 Bhp behind you on 2nd gear, i'll do some proper 3rd gear launches tomorrow and i'll post you the results George |
You should get more power in 3rd gear. I got about 10 BHP more.
Keep 'em coming and I'll add any new tyre sizes, frontal areas & weights to the software next week. Cheers Steve |
Have you got the weight of a MY99 STi5 RA Limited?
Car's totally stock Even the exhaust :D  |
