not sure about that one - I am in no way knocking old driver, just a bit more like the bike license, with different power ratings, may be they could even teach JJones a thing or 2 ;)

no m8, i meant the comment 2wards me ???
is this a previous thread ??? |
sti-04 wasn't directed at you mate. Welcome aboard btw and I do get the feeling that jealousy could be an issue.
Just as you will notice once you have been on here a while, every few months one of the self proclaimed 'sensible subaru owners' decides to have a dig about young drivers and their ability/right to own imprezas. I don't think age makes a good or bad driver and i also dont think the assumption that any young driver had his car/insurance paid for by a rich daddy is either. Not having a go at anyone in particular, just asking people to realise that some older drivers will be pedal to the floor types and some of the younger people on here will have higher incomes than their middle aged counterparts. Age doesn't mean anything [Edited by siwrx - 1/26/2004 12:25:30 AM] |
age doesnt !
we are what we are !! |
no sorry - I might know my way round a server but my grammer is to ****
I mean, I get the impression that some members on this forum find it hard that when they were 20 they could not get a cossi, so why should some one else quote but it never really happened with the cossies with my generation. guess we could just about get on the housing ladder and most did so therefore no cash for a cossie quote baz and kev are more likely to live with mummy until they are 30 quote Cheapest one on autotrader is 3995 thats why the chavs have got em, I mean who cant get a loan for 4 grand??? ok, ok you see my point - Think the same people above would be shocked to think there is a section of BMW /Merc drivers out there who would say a scoob is a council house car, and as a cooper said to me "this car says one thing to me ... dick head" as cars get cheaper, it makes them available to a wider market more cars in the country more chances that a few to55ers will get their hands on them, but "boy racers" burbury or not are welcome, but please dont class every one with the same brush |
jjones,
I'd just like to point out that Phil is not telling the truth. He may still live at home but he actually owns three houses. Sort of defeating the jist of the thread. ;) :D Lee |
im with the young guys here with me being only 24. I go to every meet and im probably more or a fanatic than alot of the other guys there. I have spent a fortune over the years on owning nice cars, from my first car (1.4S fiesta 2a RS turbo 2a GTI 16v) to my scoob. reason i can afford this? well i worked bloody hard to get a good job. so because i have a good job i cant buy things i want?
And yes i do live with my parents still but not by choice, I lived in leeds on my own for about 2 years ( also while owning cars that cost me alot! ) but moved back home so i could fight for custody of my son ( which i won and now have him full time ). I think you should have a proper think about what you say before you catagorize everyone the same. We arnt all d1ckheads that drive flat out all the time. |
as usual the young boy racers get a bee in their bonnet and start gobbing off before reading the previous posts.
i am not moaning about anyone driving a subaru, simply stating that there are more boy racers of powerfull cars than ever before. Therefore i wondered how they can afford to buy, insure and run a scoob (for example) and came up with the theory that as baz and kev cannot afford to get on the housing ladder they are spending the cash on a noce motor, obviously this does not apply to all young people who drive performance cars but judging but the people who hang around macdonalds car parks this is the case for a majority. (you can tell they live at home cos mummy has ironed a crease down the front of their diesel jeans.) |
lol @ JJ :thumbs

Joining in possibily a little late here! I am 20, do wear caps and do wear burbs! I feel thats up to me. I own a '95 scoob. I have a sub and tinted windows, however my car is no boy racer wreck with full dealer history e.t.c! I pay a very reasonable £2k to insure her and treat both my driving and car with respect. Yes i drive spiritedly on the roads, but NEVER around town. Even i hate clapped out nova drivers, so try not to tar us all please!Cheers, Gareth.

Lol at this thread again...
Who cares? we all work for a living, you earn your money you spend it on what you want. You buy what car you want. You drive it how you want. You might want to fit neons and a flammer kit so what it's your car and it's not my place to judge you.The bottom line is at least these people have good taste and want to own a great car. Each to their own and good luck to em. |
my names kevin and i'm not a BOY RACER !! so what the f**k are you trying to say !??
|
More young scooby drivers means more parts in breakers for me!!!
