Yup, I still need to claify fitment and costs but 4 pot rears will be available on this run and they're expected to be £400 all in.

As far as I know most of the big names do a pad to fit these kits but as there is little demand for them over here they'd probably need ordering in specially.

Doh - just read the post properly....shame as the drilled look superb :(

Also interested in rears btw.. :)

I don't mind supplying drilled and groved but I've heard they're prone to cracking round the holes when used in normalroad conditions. They're an optional extra at $99.99 so £55 should cover it.

Does anyone know how the pad contact area compares with 4 pot Brembos as the disc swept area looks a little narrow by comparison?

Cheers

That was a concern of mine, before I actually felt the difference in stopping power first hand. Not sure about Brembo pad sizes but here's the pad diagram for the wilwoods....

Hi Danny - has the list increased as yet? How many ppl on board? And how many ppl will you need for the group buy coz I'm very interested, but short on cash for the next month or so... :wonder:

DannyBoyTurbo 14 August 2006 09:04 PM

Just started the official list last night on the previous page so just the one on there so far. Plenty of people said they were interested though so just waiting for them to confirm thier interest by adding to the list to see how many we've got.

I'll be happy to order once we have 10 or more kits so if 5 are having front a rears I'd be happy to go with that. If I had to guess it'll probably 2-4 weeks before I'll be talking money.

Stick your name down anyway and see how it goes ;)

Kenny.S 14 August 2006 09:12 PM

Hi Danny,

Another potential for a set of fronts.
I've been spending an absolute fortune on the car recently but i do need to sort out some decent stoppers. circa 400bhp with 2-pots and standard pads probably isnt a good idea :)

Cheers

Kenny

That word "should" makes me cringe a bit.

I'm still waiting for rear fitment details to come through to see what exactly is required for each model so I'll let you know what it says ;)

Bartop 17 August 2006 01:12 PM

I've got the prodrive Impreza BBK on the front at the moment so I'm pretty confident it will fit ;)

DannyBoyTurbo 18 August 2006 03:26 PM

Yeah it's not the front's I'm worried about though mate. The rears require a different bracket dependant on year, model, uk/jap so wouldn't be 100% which to order.

I'm sure they'll know though.

DannyBoyTurbo 18 August 2006 03:27 PM

Come on guys. What happened to all those saying they wanted in?

Puppetmaster 18 August 2006 03:51 PM

I'd a like a rear set for my classic....... but I am short on cash for this month. and a bit of next month :(

I have 19's on my car, is there any chance of bigger discs? AP do 362mm, do Wilwood do equiv? :wonder:

Already got front/rears bought myself, just waiting for them to be delivered tomorrow.

Will be able to post real feedback on the rears though. I have bought a set for a 02+ car and am going to try fitting them to a 1993 WRX, I have some 2 pot rear conversion brackets so fingers crossed I should be able to get them on one way or another. Got the drilled, will post pics when they arrive.

DannyBoyTurbo 23 August 2006 06:34 AM

Sounds good Borat, keep us posted.

I'm afraid not. They could probably be adapted to fit bigger disks (bigger calliper brackets) but they don't sell a ready made kit.

Shouldn't be long now mate. Think yourself lucky you didn't have to wait 2 months like the rest of us :lol1:

alex_00s 23 August 2006 07:02 PM

Danny I was told that the Wilwoods dont have the dust seals on the pistons?

AP's have dust seals on the pistons to stop grim and crud from the 'occassionally wet' and mucky English roads... As Wilwoods are aimed at the US market where there is practically zero rain or grime on their roads they've constructed the calipers without said necessary dust seals... is this right?? :wonder:

stephen craig 24 August 2006 07:30 PM

Before I put my name down for a set, what sort of lead time are we looking at till we would see them once you have enough people to get this GB underway.
I would be after a rear kit only for a 93 import.
Cheers steve.

borat52 24 August 2006 09:52 PM

OK had a few customs troubles myself on these which took a few days to clear but I finally have a set of fronts and backs now.
I'm planning on fitting them to a 1993 classic WRX, and the rears are quoted as fitting a 2002+ model. I've had them out for a good inspection and from what I have been able to peice together in my lounge the rears will need a set of 2 pot conversion brackets to fit. I am still unsure as to how the handbrake fits into all of this but i'm as these work with the handbrake set up on the 2 pot clad impreza's, they should also work with a classic impreza handbrake. I do not think these will fit without the 2-pot bracket as the holes are in the wrong place and the calipers also sit further out in the wheel with 2 pot rears.
I anyone can remember how to use the <img> tag to get these to appear here automatically please pm me how to do it, can't get it working for some reason.

Please tell me how this goes, Borat, as I might be tempted to get a set for MY95 :)

borat52 25 August 2006 04:04 PM

I'm off on holiday from sunday for 2 weeks so it will probably be 3 weeks before I can give a definate yes or no as to whether these are compatible or not.
Will keep things updated when I have them fitted.
