Ladies and Gentlemen, members of the Jury, the defence rests.

Well I must say, I do think this thread has gone a little astray.

Tony, I must say well done for coming across very calmly and proffesionly in the light of the abuse you have been given, even when it was not really your fault, all you advised was your view and I would imagine actual factualities.

Before people spout off {you know who you are} I am insured with A-plan but have an unmodified car hence why they were best for me, however if my car was moddied I am sure Greenlight may have put me in a better position purely for the reasons stated elsewhere. Even so on the basis of what I hace read on this thread I shall be talking to Tony next year when my renewal is due, anyone who can fight their corner so acuratly and passiontly will always have a chance in my books.

My personal experience of insurance & I am no where near being any sort of insurance type person but just a normal person who drives my car and needs insurance, I have found that all insurance companies view each quote on its own merits & obviously dependant on the risk etc involved make a decision of offering cover or not or at what cost.

Paul.

i got my best quote through "www.moneysupermarket.com/motor" they totally killed any other quote i'd been given. i havnt tried a-plan yet though so i'll be trying them soon. got insured on my2000 sport special for 1k. bearing in mind im 20 and have a total loss claim under my belt. insurance for my 1.2 16v clio was £1160 so put it on the market the next day lol. most companies wanted in excess of £3k to insure me with ridiculous excess' but money supermarket sorted that out. give it a try.

Wow, this thread has been an interesting read.

First off I use A-Plan and have done for 2 years. I've found their service outstanding and I've had 2 accidents which weren't my fault and things were sorted out very professionally.

I agree with the insurers that A-Plan do use a 3rd party company (Angel Assistance) to provide you with everything. (When it's 3rd party liability)

I also have a modified Impreza which I'm covered for. In the event of an accident which was my fault then I do not know whether they will replace parts like for like or not. BUT I would expect the car to be replaced to the same standard as it was before the accident? I was wondering what will happen because without like for like parts how will they provide me with the same vehicle & spec?

I personally try different insurers for better quotes everytime my insurance is due for renewal and I will try Tony from Greenlight based on recommendation from others.

Personally I feel Daz has got a little heated with something so unimportant BUT MoleyWRX I think you've fueled the fire with your replies.

Anyway, all have a nice day! :thumb:

I used sarcasm in my first reply, and reacted the same was as Daz in the second post, which looking back i should have just ignored. Hindsight is a great thing.

I am sure if someone questioned your knowledge of the profession you worked you you'd react aswell.

Despite the fact i deal with Markerstudy, have spoken to them regarding the mods, and have also checked with the new guy in our office who joined us from A Plan, it was still made out i didn't know what i was talking about.

I hope that in Daz's case they have made an 'exception to the rule', as i have been following the progress of his car in the projects section...and it certainly is an impressive car.

MoleyWRX I agree it's difficult now to bite back when you feel someone is questioning your knowledge BUT Tony has come over with a lot of professionalism instead of lowering himself.

Anyway, it's based on nothing so lets leave it at that.
