Thanks mate

Engine hoist should be here tomorrow, so will be able to crack on. Got a nice new clutch to go in also. Bit nervous about that for some reason, never done one before.

nah just use a socket on the end of an extension bar. then add a bit of electrical tape to get the size that you want.

only kidding, get the tool. i've done the above way before and also just use a big screwdriver and eyed it. best to have the right stuff though if it's the first one you've done :thumb:

cookstar 19 September 2007 10:39 PM

bought an alignment tool today, not sure what do do with it though, there are lots of twidly bits on it :wonder:

V4JDMSTi 19 September 2007 10:43 PM

short version, it goes through the hole in the pressure plate and the clutch and onto the centre of the fly wheel. making them all line up so that they are balanced.

bit more involved than that but that's the basics.

V4JDMSTi 19 September 2007 10:48 PM

lot more involved that the last one i saw :lol1: i'll stick to my socket and bit of tape :lol1:

sure spec c will point you in the right direction :thumb:

cookstar 19 September 2007 10:50 PM

just had a fiddle and sussed it, it grips the friction plate to the pressure plate untill its bolted up, then all come apart.
