Talking of which, check out the MY09 RS in Ford Racing Blue...

How horny is that front end with that massive maw and those little vents below the headlights (a la an Integrale's). I love it! Also dig that little 'carbon' strip across the bonnet's leading edge... It's all in the details.

Really nice in that blue (like a Scoob's!)... but I'll have mine in white thanks!

I do like the new Focus RS I have to say..

But wouldn't ever go for one over an Impreza.

If only it was nearer <1250kg (rather than nearly 1400kg!), then I'd consider it..... Er, if I had the moolah, that is.

It's supposed to be the 'hardcore' one right... so why is it not a lightened 'stripped out' (relatively speaking lol) version?!

It looks great, but I just dont see it as being as fun as my Impreza.

Yeah I agree, if it was meant to be a hardcore limited model, it should be more lightweight.

Im sure in a 6 months to a Years time, they will be trying to race us!

:)

Mr_White 10 December 2008 03:21 PM

What is it with Focus ST drivers?

They always seem to thrashing it around with something to prove, more so than any other car, or maybe I just notice them more :lol1:

One word (which has already been mentioned) TYRE'S..!

After that rear arb and drop links..;)

Was parked next to a FST at asda yesterday, silver with red check graphics and BF300 all over it.

grizz237 10 December 2008 06:37 PM

welcome to the area just down the road from dav :)

my mate has a tuned st with near 300bhp and it handles very well due to the tyres and diff is all i can put it down to as u can just pull it out off the corners :)

still dont match a classic even with a slipping clutch :norty:

gallois 10 December 2008 06:45 PM

the front looks good, but the rear looks odd, unbalanced? perhaps a lip spoiler to compliment the diffuser as theres too much 'space' between the roof spoiler and the diffuser. I also had an ST trying it with my WRX (when it was standard) off a roundabout onto a dual carriageway and fairplay he kept right behind me until nearing 'foolish' speeds then i starting pulling a few car lengths, i eased up after proving the point, but he kept it going, drifted into the middle of the carriageway, showered me with road****, and kept it planted, could see him screaming off into the distance, must have been well into 3 figures. crazy b'stard.

Not sure why an open diff will help! They do have electronic traction control.

Simon, I think I've asked you this before, but what would be a good front diff upgrade for the open wrx (newage) diff..?

Sti's use either a suretrack or 'another' iirc..:wonder:

Sorry OP for the highjack..;)

Agree. The ST has NOT got any kind of LSD as OEM fitment .

The only contemporary 'big' hot hatch that has, is the Megane R27 F1 Team IIRC (and maybe the regular Renaultsport 225, not sure)... which allegedly works brilliantly.

I've never heard Dav being described as "a village" ...

You have 97 RON at the Esso garage on London Rd (just in from the Landmark Hotel roundabout). 3 Shell stations in Northampton and one in Leamington (or is it two?), Tesco with 99 RON at Mere Way in NN and another in Banbury. The rest of us just have to get job lots of Octane Booster and make do.

As to the Focus; there will always be someone with more money to spend on his car than you so will always be faster. Chill and enjoy the burble.

will_wrx 11 December 2008 10:43 AM

For those interested in the Focus and the way it gets rid of torquesteer and stuff, read the first post..

Haaa! He probably recognised you and/or the Scoob from work then! - hence his shenanigans the other day, lol.

Mother Theresa 11 December 2008 05:45 PM

I have a blobeye wagon - there is no little scoobynet icon for them so I have to do the best I can.
