Year is not too important as long as the engine is strong and the chassis is in decent nick - the body parts will end up getting scrapped to make way for the Murtaya bodyshell, unless I buy a house when I'll look for a V4/V5 to turn into a track toy:wonder:

leecalcars 15 April 2012 06:50 PM

Had a small issue with trying to fit left waist harness to eyebolt as its nigh on impossible to get your hand in to attach it to the eyebolt , but got it in the end

I trial fitted a spare seat I had to see if the rail was any good but it seems a little high especially when helmet is on so may go down the route of ordering from custom cages the passenger side seat bars and get them welded in .

Need to locate some carbon fibre to make surround for gear gaitor easy task really and should finish off quite nice

360ste 16 April 2012 11:04 PM

Nice thread and very nice car. Thanks for showing the swirl pot installation as I am looking into doing one myself soon doing upgrades to my road car. Just one thing I am puzzled by would it not have been better to have the filter between the swirl pot and the pump. I know there is the filter on the in tank pump to stop the crap from the tank but anything getting into the swirl pot could F your Bosch 044 pump. With the wiring for the fuel pumps are both pumps running off the relay or just the Bosch?
Cheers Steve

leecalcars 17 April 2012 04:01 AM

Understand what your saying about filter but if needs be I could always filter into Bosch 044 from swirl pot .

The wiring for the Bosch is on a switched relay so is separate from ignition, ignition 1 ignition 2 then sep switch for high pressure pump

leecalcars 18 April 2012 10:51 AM

Sourced a sheet of A4 size real carbon fiber to make gear surround wasnt that expensive just less than £20 delivered.

360ste 19 April 2012 03:29 PM

Do you have a picture of the pipe connections on top of the tank please. I am looking at ordering the swirl pot, pump, lines and fittings this weekend so just want an idea of what I will need. I have seen a 2.5 ltr swirl pot that comes with the AN-6 fittings, so would just need to order the piping and connections. If you could list the connectors you used it would be much appreciated.
Thanks Steve.

Dont know if ive missed it but how did you make your door cards? Also what have you done with the electric window switches?

360ste 19 April 2012 09:47 PM

Have been trying to work out how you did the feed pipe from the tank to the swirl pot. Thankfully the light just came on, LOL, I take it you connected the 180 degree union to the push on AN6 rather than bending the hard pipe. You then used a hard pipe to AN6 with a 90 degree union on the return pipe. Am I right??

360ste 19 April 2012 10:52 PM

This fuel system stuff is expensive £450 spent.

leecalcars 20 April 2012 01:32 PM
