Look at what you've done, stand back and realise what a massive achievement you have accomplished so far.

Chin up, tiny fuel issue is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
I think you should be very proud, well done.

:)

+ 1 on this. The car is a dramatic transformation from when I saw it last !!

Glad the issue has been rectified - cant wait to get the right performance from this for you :thumb:

Cheers Duncan just goes to show the little things matter aswell , just waiting on Carl davey for new injector seals .
Looking forward to next visit with you at RCM let's hope we get the figures you want and reliability aswell.

Had a relaxing morning on the car this morning, everything seemed to go to plan!

Moved the boost gauge to triple pod and wired in all guage's to come on and go off with kill switch .
Re-tapped 16mm adapter with 1/8th npt female to take stack solid state sensor for oil temp gauge .
Fitted new injector seals and slightly bent the fastening lugs to manifold to get a better seal and re tapped out holes in manifold to m8 with 1.25 pitch thread , re instated all fuel lines and intercooler pipework checked everything before start up primed pumps and pressed start button she fired first time but revs shot up to 3000rpm !

I text Duncan and explained the situation and he said

Idle control valve needs adjusting or simply map adjusting. It's a good sign that it is noticeably different though.

So already for map on Thursday at RCM just need to get it on the trailer wednesday evening for drive over to Hinckley .

frayz 17 June 2012 03:31 PM

The only thing I didn't do yesterday was remove the bung in gallery 3 to re fit the temp sender unit , after stripping away all pipework above to get to it it unscrewed pretty easy , after fitting thus and connected up that's the guages now done for now.

On to fitting roof trims and front and rear window trims as I didn't have enough yellow , white and grey trim clips decided to blob mastic on and fasten it that way as I didn't want to spend £60 odd on genuine clips turned out spot on .

Great track pppwer/torque:)

Enjoyed mapping it Lee :D

JonMc 21 June 2012 08:42 PM

Some cracking figures - I'd like to be anywhere around those figures when I fit my VF34 but I suspect the torque will be quite a bit lower:wonder:

Thanks guys hope to see some of you out on track soon,

It's been emotional but loads of fun too !
And I suppose this is just the beginning not the end of a fantastic experience for me , started off as a scary thought into the unknown learnt a hell of a lot about these cars and with a lot of help from friends it came a reality now time to enjoy the summer ... When the sun finally comes out to play !

Thanks to all involved
