sb, glad your seeing sense,i loved my scoob but i bought an evo 5, they are truley awsome m8, the handling is somthing else, no "fuel surge" better build quality,tuning potential,exclusivity.they are the complete package.there are lots of ex scooby owners with them now that tells you somthing.
if i were you i would get a cheep runaround for now, come sept time test drive one i promise you like me will have to have one.

Having not driven an Impreza, I can't comment on that. However, I have taken a a Civic Type-R for a fairly vigorous test drive, and while I know it was faster, it didn't feel as fast as my Octavia vRS. I think it's all down to the difference between a turbo car and a VTEC car.

The Honda delivers it's power more smoothly, whereas the kick from the turbo makes it feel quicker.

My impression of the Civic was that it would be very tiring to drive, i.e.: You need to be concentrating 100% to get the best out of it. It's a sweet motor, and very well built and whatnot, but I think the novelty of the "scream" you get from the VTEC would wear off pretty quickly.
