why spend a fortune turning the PC into a good gaming platform when there are dedicated gamers on the market for a lot less?
Gordo

You gotta get into the mind of hardcore gamer. frame rates, benchmarking, overclocking all form part of this mindset. always with the bigger, better, faster. as long as these people exist (and i am on the periphery (sp)) then manufacturers will always have a market for their goods.

Daz34 29 July 2003 03:49 PM

I was having a nose around to check prices out and was suprised to find that http://www.theoverclockingstore.co.uk/ has ceased trading

Not a bad price. About same as you would pay for a 128mb model.

rik1471 29 July 2003 03:56 PM

super_si 29 July 2003 04:21 PM

super_si 29 July 2003 04:31 PM

Your loss not mine, next time lighten up with then :)

super_si 29 July 2003 05:26 PM

Just to add.
Being contacted by someone else about supplying the cards ;):)

UHF 29 July 2003 05:47 PM

so we're basically losing the equivelent to the VAT on these since they're £280+VAT online and the group buy will be £282inc VAT

Sounds like a reasonable deal.

super_si 29 July 2003 05:59 PM

oh are you interest then in this?

I still thought it was a little high.

Someone else has contacted me after viewing this thread. Ill wait and see what he comes up with.

£20-£30 cheaper would be good :)

albob 29 July 2003 07:20 PM

si - I would be interested, but I've seen them on-line for £272
(pcnextday - sapphire 9800pro 128mb inc vat/postage)
£250.00 would be really good... ;)

alan

rik1471 29 July 2003 07:48 PM

Sorry, just thought you was a bit sharp. :D That's all morning with no caffeine.

super_si 29 July 2003 07:58 PM

Nar rik lol I didnt mean it spitefully or anything.

When did you see it for £273?

Si

albob 29 July 2003 08:19 PM

si - is the £273 addressed to me??
saw it on Kelcoo first, then checked on www.pcnextday.co.uk
http://www.pcnextday.co.uk/product_d...PAT&pgroup=VID

then I saw this on EBAY - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ory=27387&rd=1

not sure on import/vat implications of that one tho' ??

super_si 29 July 2003 10:03 PM

£268.84

UHF 29 July 2003 10:06 PM

i'm losing track here, is that a new deal?

super_si 29 July 2003 10:12 PM

nar i just followed the above link

UHF 29 July 2003 10:14 PM

oh i see, then the group buy is gonna have to do better then :)

super_si 29 July 2003 10:23 PM

precisly why ive just emailed them :)

can i add you to the definite list now then?

Si

UHF 29 July 2003 10:25 PM

no, add me for definate once i've seen the price and said "please add me for definate", hehe

dont worry, I apreciate the agony of group buys, i organised a very sucessful knock and lambda link buy but not before answering loads of questions about whether it'll fit my "MY69 moon buggy"

super_si 29 July 2003 10:28 PM

lol yeah its getting quite frustrating atm.

I wanted it asap too

Si

UHF 29 July 2003 10:30 PM

well its worth waiting for a good price, if you want one asap then go buy from nextday i think, thats one hell of a deal! the 9700 pro is a awesome price too!

Fuzz 29 July 2003 10:34 PM

AAARRRGGGGHHHH Tooo bloody confusing,
