Thanks Rob. As a very untechnical person could you give me a little more detail - is it something I need to bend or is there a screw? Cheers
|
Thanks Rob, I'll have a look tomorrow.

Stupid, lazy question but keep forgetting to look - do we have a mini spare wheel? It seems most manufacturers are now going down the 'gunk' route instead.

:p Yes a spacesaver, unless hatch is different. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/donald.clark/tyredata1.jpg |
Thanks Dom, I'm assuming these only fit on the rears due to brakes so have to swap if front puncture?
|
whip it out the boot and have a look :)
|
spacesaver will only fit on the rear so if you puncture a front you'd need to fit a rear wheel on thev front then put the spacesaver on the rear
|
Thanks Rob

I thought I read somewhere that someone on here and had an issue with a flat battery? Washed my Christmas Eve and tucked her up nicely over Christmas, came to start this morning and all I got was rapid machine gun fire, that's not even two weeks! Had to grab a lift to work so need to go home tonight and charge in the dark stormy weather! Would have thought brand new cars shouldn't do this for less than two weeks?

With the keyless entry/proximity system I'd expect there to be more of a draw on the battery but not to kill off a fully charged one in a fortnight. Could have a dud battery??. |
On a fully charged battery and in good shape should last 2 weeks without much issue, but will start to run down after that due to the tracker and alarm running but that current draw shouldnt be any more than 0.5amp anymore than that you've got problems.
where do you keep the Fobs when the cars not in use ? please dont tell me there around 10-15ft of the car? Whats your typical daily drive how many miles & how many stop starts. |
Hi Rob. No keys are in the house some 25m from the car. Daily drive is 30mins to work and then back in the evening. One stop to drop my eldest off and have to turn the car on and off so I can open the boot. I texted the car at the end of November and the response was that the battery was at 13.4 volts which is full isn't it? I had drove the car out of the garage to wash it and put it back in which doesn't help but thought wouldn't be an issue and I did think I had turned the alarm off as it was locked in the garage. Phoned my local dealer who told me I have to always drive with something major switched on like the side lights so it tells the management system to charge the battery during driving? They also told me to trickle charge the battery to full and then call Subaru Assistance out to measure the battery to see if it is a duff one. Useful advice?

As above, commuter run would not be enough to keep it fully charged. Need to get out and drive it more :D:D |
^^^
If I'm leaving my car longer than a week I quickly clip one of these on the battery... http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_255205 best £25 you'll spend and you'll have no battery issue either. I too can't go longer than about 2weeks and the battery is too weak to start up. |
Never had trouble with this commute over the last seven years including Subarus. Also the Tracker gave me 13.4 which is maximum right?
|
^^
maybe not, but now with the Hatch this is a comman issue, you're not the only one who's noticed the quick discharge of the battery.... but when you think what's constantly 'on' when the car is off, I'm not suprised we see the battery not lasting too long. |
get a truck batt in the boot :)
I left my inside lights on those 2 spotlights ad it was flat as a fart in the morning. I looked a right chump with my neighbours 100quid shagged Punto jump starting my 30k scooby :( She still ribs me now |
