Mint may be an issue, I have 2 sets 15 months old and all beginning to blister on back of spokes even after spending hours polishing & sealing them before driving on them... Dealer putting warranty claim in!
The paint on them is s**t.
BTW they are made by Enkei, have seen quite a few sets for sale on here & fleabay... Good luck in your search

Have a good one everybody

At the right price it'll be worth spending to get them refurbished then you could have them any colour you want knowing they're fully powder coated properly.

LUCKO 24 December 2013 08:42 AM

very true salsa

how much are they new, i suppose i dont want to know

The Standard fit dunlops don't help either as they do not protect the rims. You cannot even put them on the floor without them scratching. I would recommend going onto Goodyear F1s when you get a set as rim protector stands outboard of the rim so saves on curbing. It also transformed my handling.

Or get some Rota's. They look cool on the hatch and saloon.

Any other views on good tyres, going to be changing my Dunlops soon. Looking for something with good summer performance (that'd be wet & dry then :D ) and a little quieter than the standard fit  F1s get good reports but wondered what the rest of you are using?

Have a great Christmas
Andrew

Vredestein Tyres get a good review, also good on price as well.

Abx 24 December 2013 11:02 PM

Vreds all the way, paid about £119 a corner for 18's iirc, good all round tyre that I will certainly buy again!

Why? Is it not pristine

Littleted 31 December 2013 05:44 PM

it was looked after. I suppose when you have the car for 3 years you know where to look

bigh221 31 December 2013 06:11 PM

Anything particular too look out for on these models, mine is standard ?

Littleted 31 December 2013 06:45 PM

check tyres, if there still original dunlops, id done 30k in mine and they were ready for a change Tracked on the inside, they also make noise if Tracked that sounds like bearing going, Run hand round inside of tyre to see if its stepped

buy yaself a Pioneer headunit they sound awesome in the car, compared to normal,

Also if its standard why does it have ProR sticker on ? they give these out when you get the remap 320 or 340 by the looks of your exhaust, its standard so maybe 320R hiding in there ?

terzoscooby 31 December 2013 06:56 PM

Check boot for rust. There is a warrantee upgrade on the number plate light fitting. Only done if rust starts on boot. Get 4 wheel alignment done to.

Car is ex demo so maybe the dealer plonked the PRO-R sticker on, dealer I'm buying from says there is no paperwork supporting an upgrade, I'm sure he would raise the price if there was.

Cheers for the tips all :)

Check the bottom of the "B" pillars, where the VIN plate is for an additional sticker for 320R or 340R upgrades.

Ok will do that cheers

Abx 01 January 2014 11:19 AM

Mine is a 320r and also had no paperwork to support the upgrade or any stickers, I spoke with IM to confirm and they sent me out a cert for my piece of mind.

Thanks for that abx, will check with IM when I pick it up Friday, anyone else fitted the subtle boot lip spoiler? Rough cost for color coding please :-)

T5NYW 01 January 2014 02:22 PM

IIRC The only sticker they put on is the 97ron sticker on the inside of fuel flap.

Tony

Originally all you got was a fuel flap sticker and a PPP style certificate.

BUT, Tony will probably remember now :D that on our visit to Unity in Peterborough the WRX STi in the workshop sported a black on silver VIN style sticker as well, on thebase of the B pillar ............ can't remember if it was 340R or 320R tho'

If you plan on upgrading the standard wheels on your new car I would be interested in the standard ones

Long shot but thought I'd ask
