For pre 98 cars : directly plugged on the yellow connector

That's right ?

PSI3 30 December 2002 03:50 PM

Aim to have pre '98 car version ready by end of Jan '03.

Website to be replaced this week.

All right !

What the limits between a pre-98 model and a post-98 one ?

The ODB-II connector ?
Mine has this connector but not the K-line (just TX and RX)

PSI3 30 December 2002 04:20 PM

Current units are for cars with ODB socket, 9 variants of post '98 impreza are supported to date, a full list will be available on our new website due later this week.

lizzard 31 December 2002 02:58 AM

Looks and sounds impressive!!! Do I hear a group buy comming soon to a theater near you!! :)

I wea seriously thinking of the DELTA DASH unit. Anyone know which is "better"?

polarbearit 04 January 2003 09:06 PM

Simon,

Thanks for the Torque controller - I'll give you a bell soon about installation etc!

Now I understand what the little black box you were clutching today was - looks the business - kind of like the hand commander for a Power FC but with more information

Cheers

simon

ianfergus0n 07 January 2003 12:00 PM

How does it connect? (MY99)

PSI3 07 January 2003 12:20 PM

Ian, All connections are made via the diagnostic port under the steering column, just plug in and it works no power etc.. to connect.

simon

torsteinvh 07 January 2003 12:24 PM

How large is the plug?

I have DeltaDash from EcuTek, and their plug rubs my knee when I'm using the clutch...

(LHD car if that makes any difference...)

And will it be possible to have DeltaDash and S.E.C.S. plugged in at the same time?

A serial port on the S.E.C.S. would be an excellent idea, then I could just plug the laptop with DeltaDash into the S.E.C.S. :)

Simon, have u a piccy if the connection or connector, is it flush?

Cheers

Ian

PSI3 07 January 2003 02:52 PM

Our connector is shorter than the EcuTek item, on our cars we have had not experienced the problem Torstein mentions.

Torstein it is very easy to unclip the cars diagnostic port so that connection can be made behind the console.

Danny Boy 07 January 2003 10:11 PM

would be very interested in this for a MY 99 with the pod.
Sounds like it would be easily removeable, is that the case?
cos mine still has some warranty left and i don't want the slimy buggers to get out of any of it!

Danny Boy.

PSI3 07 January 2003 10:41 PM

Danny, 10 minutes for fitting/removal :D

RT 08 January 2003 02:16 AM

Simon, have you managed to test it with a MY01 JDM STI yet?
Cheers.

PSI3 08 January 2003 07:41 AM

Yes, works fine after minor software change.

simon

Matt Churchill 08 January 2003 07:43 AM

Second what Simon says about the connector, having driven with one in the car, you'd never know it was there, and a peice of p*ss to fit and un-fit.

torsteinvh 08 January 2003 07:53 AM

Hi!

Thanks for the info regarding the connector. This thing sounds like an aboslute must-have :)

A question regarding the software:
Will it be possible to upgrade the software somehow?

-Torstein

PSI3 08 January 2003 08:15 AM

Yes, we will be offering free ( you just pay for postage )software upgrades.
