at the end of the day it's who wants it the most no matter what bhp you've got or how much torque the engine is producing i've done peak tour's with fellow scooby drivers and if they catch you in the wrong gear when accelerating their gone no matter what car you drive its the same!

Just read the Sept issue of evo....in a nutshell a £80000 500 bhp BMW M6 couldnt leave a £15,500 180bhp Clio Trophy in the distance...why road type (twisties) Every car has its advantages/disadvantages.....If you like your scoob great if not sell up an move on...stop moaning |

It will happen with the 260's but the basic Evo's were always 270bhp, and nearer 300bhp on some rollers.
EVO were previously all JDM and comparable to JDM Scoobs. Subaru customers have a choice of how quick/spec'd they want their cars. Ranges from regular WRX to STi PPP. Subaru are alot more sucessful at selling cars than Mitsi. Mitsi are following Subaru with the EVO 260, and quite rightly so. Bob |

The E-Type was doing 150mph in a straight line in 1961, but I woudlnt want to drive one around a corner quickly ( hence them being so popular in the USA ) The Impreza has been developed alongside the rally car, and rally cars arent built to go fast in a straight line - in the hands of a good driver, on a racetrack or road with corners, where maxing the top speed isnt an issue, not much will keep up with an Impreza - anything with 2WD will be a long way behind. In future, only race people around roundabouts and then you wont get upset ! andy |
this thread has turned into a farce,"my cars faster than your car" jeez is any car allowed to be quicker than a scoob.
|
Think these cupra drivers have been watchin the touring cars to much try watchin the rallying and see whose got the proven race pedigree! Any car can be quicker if justified!!!!. but no hot hatch is gonna beat a top spec scoob nuff said unless it's puttin the power down with four wheels

so youve modded it to a fair degree, I'd take a willing bet that the only fair comparison is to take a car with a similar level of performance modifications uprated intercooler, injectors etc, full remap and put you to in the dogfight.
oh btw there is a reason as to why people on here dont like cupra R's, its because its scoobynet. not cupranet. You like your cars, we like ours, there not comparable, because they're totally different. You could well as be a 2.1 zetec turbo powered fiesta van for all i care with 400bhp to the wheels. Buts it will still be a ****ty fiesta.... do you see my point ? |
juliano give up mate let's hope we never see him on road nuff said.

Im willing to put me words into action, not keep writing links to other peoples misfortune |

End of the day your putting a modified car up against a non modified car. How can that be fair?
These times are from the top gear test track as standard cars and a 212bhp fwd RS is the only thing that is close to the STI. Some 2fwd cars can be quick in a straight line and on the twisties Subaru Impreza STI - 1.30.1 Ford Focus RS - 1.32.2 Volkswagen Golf R32 - 1.33.2 Alfa 147 GTA - 1.35.6 Renault Clio v6 - 1.36.2 Honda Civic Type R - 1.36.5 |
i admit that some people are fascinated with the impreza iconic unbeatable image and i know that some of the "unbeatable" image is expressed on here. My point is trying to say i dont care what you drive, i dont care if i get thrashed by a highly modded fiesta, im happy in what i own and drive, so are most of the people on here. Im sure there are cars out there that will beat your seat, no matter how much money you spend on it. So you just cant compare it

Is the Seat Web site down or something? Has anyone checked the EVO owner's website - are they taking abuse for driving EVO 260's? Is this maybe because Seat never produced a quality WRC machine that didn't take a whipping (Does anyone want to go on the Seat Website and remind them about the Cordoba WRC?). So a LCR is quicker than a standard WRX up a dual carriageway or some straight road. Who gives a fook? I'm taking my WRX PPP to the Isle Of Mull to watch one of the greatest closed road rallies in the World. If any Seat drivers would care to challenge me on the roads to this event (the style for which Imprezas were built), I'll gladly accept, but they better make sure their are like "Buster Gonad and his Unfeasably Large Testicles".
Oh, incidentally, I'm not in IT, drive and test fast cars for a living, and then compete in Motorsport at weekends |
