Guys

No mention of two-way radios in the route book!

They were very handy last time.

I still have someones from EB07... Are we taking them this trip?

Radios - might have to upgrade mine as I couldn't recharge them on the EB07 trip - ended up having to borrow one.
And ARGH! Not sure what I've done but I now can't open up the confirmation email for the first night's hotel accommodation.

StormyC 19 May 2009 09:10 PM

All confirmed phew and abit tight on timing

Pick up Exige S Friday Week, nothing like leaving it till the last minute eh!

So next challenge is fitting 2 blokes stuff in a tupperware car with a cubby hole as a boot.

No jumping for me thanks. :nono: I get vertigo when I open my car door and accidently look down.:(

Hope you don't have any problems picking up the Exige. I'm looking forward to a couple of passenger laps in that.

What time will you be leaving/getting on the M4 on the Sat?

Tony

TonyG 21 May 2009 10:12 AM

oooh, that's a point - if we're all catching the same Chunnel train, are we meeting up anywhere?

I will link up with Stormy C and Hugh somewhere on the M4 and I guess the rest of us could gather at the M20 services..

?

Tony

NeilP1 23 May 2009 04:57 PM

It will be a good chance for a coffee and a snack before the Chunnel and 3-4hrs driving the other side.
Guess we should be at the services at 13:00-13:30ish

?

NeilP1 25 May 2009 12:10 PM

Probably best to meet at J3 (Trottiscliffe) services. I looked them up as well and the other 2 are at J1 and J2. The guys coming from the west (anti-clockwise round the M25) will miss J1 and J2 by using the M26 link road.

Where are you coming from Neil?

Saw your MLR post about your MOT failure Neil. I think your MOT tester needs to update his files. 888's are road legal, as are window tints if they let 70% of light through, and as far as I'm aware, any brake pads are legal for road use.

Tony

This time 2 weeks from now we will be in Pau having a few beers.

StormyC 26 May 2009 09:28 AM

Good idea ref meeting up, was thinking of leaving Reading at 12:30 train is at 16:20 so need to be at terminal for 15:30ish. Looking at AA route planner thye reckon it will take 2:15 to drive so allowing 3 hours that should be safe.

Will see how drive goes but I suspect I will miss you so see you at Terminal, meeting Hugh my Co driver there too.

That is if I can work out how to pack anything in an Exige :-)

Ref Hotel for Saturday night after 21:00 it moves to automatic access as per email from Mark G so I think we will all need codes. That said I am hoping we get to the Hotel for around 8:30

Less than 2 weeks to go, now getting excited

Hi Neil, I'll be heading down the M1 from J25/26. Not exactly sure when yet.

Anyone got any recommendations for track insurance?

Hey Neil

I'v only driven the M42/M40 a couple of times and both times it was a nightmare. lane control was in effect and everything was tootling along at 40-45mph..:brickwall

Correction on the meeting place: 2pm-3pm M20 J8 Maidstone services. (thanks Markee)

I'm told K.M. usually does very good price for track cover.:thumb:

See you soon

Last time I tried K.M they only did track cover if your main policy was with them. If like me it isn't then try these guys.
