frayz 13 January 2011 07:40 PM

When does she go for paint Jon?

JonMc 13 January 2011 07:43 PM

When I stop spending the respray money I don't have:D

Flocked centre console arrived back today so should fit that tomorrow, finish flushing the welding work Saturday and then hopefully through the MOT next week:wonder:

Then start thinking about when I'll have all the money together for the paint job - reminds me, must get a quote:eek:

frayz 13 January 2011 07:51 PM

Same colour?

JonMc 13 January 2011 07:52 PM

Already done mate, get your ass around this weekend and check it out:thumb:

JonMc 14 January 2011 03:36 PM

Flocked dash is in, a couple of scratches in the flock as a result of the centre console being extremely tight between the Sparcos:(

Still looks good. Only other issue is my PSI3 seems to be playing up.

Got to love the flocking! One of the best mods i have done, just gives a clear look to the dash. Top job!

Looking forward to seeing the the paint with the twist Jon :0)

martin850 14 January 2011 08:43 PM

Looks amazing mate, r u going to get the lower dash flocked?

JonMc 14 January 2011 08:48 PM

No mate, that's all the flocking done - 3M carbon next:D

prodriverules 14 January 2011 08:49 PM

Your going mad on her Jon:lol1:

JonMc 14 January 2011 08:53 PM

Oh, and the PSI3 is fixed :D

Stripped it down and found the build quality wasn't brilliant. The soldering on the PCB was good enough, but the final clean wasn't up to my standards with plenty of flux left around the solder joints. Cleaned all that up, continuity checked the lead to the data port and the flex cable inside the box. Re-assembled and hey presto it now works again:luxhello:

Do you find it gets a little boring all that filling/sanding/filling/sanding......... I did, the end result will be worth it though :D

I've learnt the art of skimming the filler on thin enough that it doesn't need much sanding, plus I use 60 grade for fibre glass, an orbital sander for the course cut back of the filler and then wet and dry to finish it off:D
