That's a hurricane lamp isn't it , for sticking in the rigging of ships
|

|

|

Liking the hurricane lamp jobbie. You want to invest in a decent air rifle and pop a few for the pot, or if you're a little less squeamish and got a decent sized freezer set up a net across the driveway and bag a few at once, you'll have to dispatch them by hand though, pick them up by the back legs and Karate chop on the back of the neck or you could use a Priest to save you hurting your hand, how ironic yet apt. :lol1:
Rabbit stew is really nice, rabbit is also great in a curry. ;) |

https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...6327e35ca.jpeg However, I have been looking at this following pic (out of thousands of pictures) on my iPhone quite a bit in last two days. I have no idea why. It also also has pink sky but a warm evening one. Attachment 38626 Amazing what you've been occupied with tends to appear on internet pages, in a day or two. It happens with me more than just....... sometimes. |
|
lol, I'll see if I can post you a propper one in the morning. ;)

Quite overcast this morning |
I like the way the sun breaks through the cloud.

Yesterday it was a red sky with the sun breaking over the top of the mountain like one of yours above, which gives it a whole different perspective, was a bit dark here this morning as the clouds were quite low and in front of me, the views can be quite spectacular and ever changing, somewhat ere when all you can see is the tops of the hills peaking out of the mist below, I never get tired of waking up here.
|
Terrific views! As you say, it must be a real blessing waking there each morning. We loved Croatia and want to return. Carpe diem.
|
Yep I grab the carpet every day :lol1: which bit of Croatia did you go to, did a bit of traveling around when I first got here, but don't bother now as I know i'm in the best bit. :D

Yes beautiful area, those scenes are typical of the whole region, rolling hills with trees going down to the shore line, not really something you see in very many places around the world, only other place I've seen it is in New Zealand, which was one of our choices of place to buy, but it was all a bit too far away from family at the time and too much red tape to go through as well, so we started looking around Europe and fate brought us here. :)
Language was a bit tricky, (still can be) but I'm reasonably fluent now for general conversation. |

Yes there are some cracking people here, one of the things that really appealed to me was how close they are to the land, nature and all the natural fresh produce, most only eat what is in season, right now it's pig killing and wood cutting, so lots of pork and potatoes :lol1: give me a few mins and I'll load you some pics of what I've been doing recently, everything is done in accordance with the lunar cycles.

Freshly killed pig, the small fat sausages are ones I made, a bit spicy :D the longer ones are some a friend brought round along with his home grown potatoes, rosemary and bay leafs from my garden and I cheated for the carrots and got them from lidl, but they are apparently Croatian. :lol1:
Wine is great out here too, takes a bit of trial and error to find who's had a good year, but worth it at Ł1 a litre, I just buy 50L red and 50L white and keep it in my own barrels, which is dangerous sometimes when I'm in the mood. :lol1: |
