PFF7
I'm interested in some gold 18 inch PFF7's without tyres if they're still available
|
Still available, the more the merrier!!
|
Come back onto some money again, jaycee where in the country is this dealer, and what price can you get the tyres for?
|
The dealer is K T Green in Otley, West Yorkshire.
Wheels- £211.50 inc VAT per rim. Delivery- £11.75 per rim. You'd be best sourcing your own tyres rather than paying delivery then fitting, valves balancing etc on top. Jason |
So looking at £893 all in delivered.
Once you receive funds, what sort of time scale is delivery? Cheers Steve |
Send me the cheques, I give to dealer, he clears his cheque then orders wheels, when they arrive I collect them and send them out. Usually takes a week ish.
I can get the diff guards now as well, £115 +VAT. Jason |
Jason
Wheels arrived today :) To say iam well chuffed with them would be an understatement :) Thanks again Carl |
Well Chuffed!!
Hi Jason
Wheel arrived to day, just like to say thanks for sorting this out for me. Jason kept me informed every step of the way and when he said it would arrive it did. Top job from a top bloke :) Cheers Iain |
Glad you're both happy! :D :D :D

I'm very interested for my P1, but a bit worried about the fit. I read the Mike Wood bit and not sure if that's a warning against them or not. Has anyone had them on a P1 who can tell me if, and how much they rub? Am I better to put this in technical to make sure it gets read, rather than at the end of this post?

Jonny, quote from Mike Wood.
The range of wheels we supply is on our website www.prodrive.com the only information it doesn't have is the offset of the P-FF7 which is ET51. In the US the wheels are technically the same but the colour range is slightly larger than the UK with an additional colour called British Pewter which is actually really called Grigio Uranio if you want to use the Italian name. This wheel is the same colour as the WR1 wheel although there are some small differences between the two specs. In the US and Japan we sell various other wheels which are manufactured for us in Japan, primarily for that market. Unfortunately these are not always available in the offsets we require here (most wheels that would fit over the Brembo calipers are ET43 for example) so we do not bring them into the UK. So the reason we don't bring them here is that they don't work, this isn't a conspiracy to deprive the British of anything, other than wheels that won't fit your car properly. Bright flitter is a colour used on the P-FF7 which is ET51, the ET53 and ET46 wheels are the P1 (P-WRC1). In order to make sure that the offsets couldn't be mixed up, we don't do different offsets in the same colour so the ET53 wheels are gold, silver and anthracite, the ET46 are rally gold and crystal titanium. Ref offset and fitment to the 'Classic' cars, when we were developing the P1 we always wanted to offer the car on 18" wheels and the original development spec was set at ET50 with an 8x18" wheel. In most conditions this was OK as the development car did not have the rubber lip on the rear arch so only touched in extreme conditions. This wasn't an acceptable solution for release so we changed the spec to a 7.5x18 ET53 which does clear when used with the Pirelli or another similar shaped 225/35 tyre. We did try it with other tyres the same size but found that we had a foul as most other tyres this size had kerbing ribs or similar bulges in the sidewalls. If an 8x18" wheel must be fitted then ET51 will be as good as you will get but don't expect to bolt them straight on and not have to do anything to make sure they don't catch. Another thing to consider is that the suspension should be given a thorough make-over as well. Fitting 18" wheels sharpens up the whole car quite considerably and if your std suspension is even slightly worn or the geometry is not perfect you will end up with a car that is at best unpleasant to drive and at worst, downright dangerous. Some time ago I had the misfortune to see what was left of a std car fitted with 18" wheels that had been involved in a very serious accident and the only thing we could put it down to was getting out of phase with the steering over a series of bumps because the driver may have only had one hand on the wheel. I hope this clears up any lingering issues. Regards Mike Hope this helps Jason |
Jason,
Yeah, thats the one I read. Was hoping someone with them on a classic might put my mind at rest. Saw a post in this thread from someone with a P! saying they were great so not too worried. Wondered if I might need to be more careful with tyre size as well. Anyway think I might get them if offer still on. What's the deadline and is it still 2 cheques to you like it says earlier in thread? Jon |
I can still get them so send the 2 cheques, I'll give the dealer his and he orders the wheels when it's cleared.

I have sent you a PM |
is this still on????
|
I'm sure it could be got going again.
The one change from last time would be a minimum of 5 orders to be placed in one go. I think the dealer got fed up of me taking the money up in dribs and drabs as he ended up ordering every other day! :D |
i'm interested in a set so if you put my name down and we'll have to see if anyone else wants some, did robocop ask for a set??
|
Unfortunately, as I have sold my existing wheels, I’ve had to source a set of PFF7s from a local dealer.
I hope this does not disrupt the plans of any other interested party, especially as it now appears that the group buy supplier wants orders in multiples of five. |
I could be interested in 1 or 2 18" PFF7s as Ive just taken one down the kerb!!! not nice - 1 to replace and 1 spare incase.
If it helps incase others want 1 or 2's we can make up a set. Let me know the situation. |
