She is a beauty, having an excedy organic clutch put in on friday as the standard one has had it, also put on a new set of eagle f1's and some new ferodo pads for the 6pots.

Can't wait to try out the new clutch!! :thumb:

Im amazed the standard clutch lasted that long and really I should have added a uprated clutch when I had her mapped with all the mods, Its had a few trips to Santa Pod and its coped with 300+bhp and 300lb/ft since around 15kmiles?, so not done to bad.

Let us know how you get on with the Exedy clutch, I had a Paddle clutch in my old classic and I hated it, but heard the Exedy organic clutches are really easier to use in everyday driving.

Oh dear, bloody Youths again! :D

It is not a shed (though drove like one)
It is not a wedding car (it was a style statement)

It was:
1937 Y Type Ford
Chopped roof by 2.5'' with Volvo estate roof welded in...
Custom box chassis
Capri 3 litre V6 and 3 speed auto
Vauxhall front suspension
Jaguar S type rear suspension

Stacks more. Painted in a one car garage while I lived with my Mum (ahhh...) before I married.
Did absolutly everything on the car myself including how to weld.

Was on the Custom Car Magazine stand at Aly Pally in the mid 70's :D :D

Christ Graham, does your wife know you have such literature under the bed;):D

On a serious note you were modding before most people on this BBS were born, fair play to ya fella:)

Kinda makes you the mod-father:D

Blonde on the right is dirt looking :norty:

Did u meet the birds at the time 911?

911 24 November 2006 03:54 PM

Yep!

We took the car down to London for the day for the cover shot and article.
In the studio there were 2 small rooms.. a changing room and a cafe type place.
We sat there telling the story of the car (this was the very early days of Street Rods) and then THEY appeared....clothed.

We all went into the cafe and chatted, admittedly distracted, but they were all made -up and looked just stunning to a young 20 something.

We went into the studio and 'glimpsed' the peeling-off and the first shot, then bundled out by the reporter :norty:

They were in there ages and ages, but we finished up with coffee again at the end of the day.
Great experience, and such a buzz when it appeared in Custom Car.

Magic days (through rosy glasses) but it was all so good.
Spent 16 years with Street Rods and drag racing before feeling too old for them and buying the 911 above in 1988 and the Sti in 2001.

sorry for the Old Bloke bit.

Graham
