Mine seemed to have metal bits between the flaps resulting in the pits, but to b honest they don't seem that bad now as I have left them out, let's c how they r in the morning
|
Mine had the same thing, I think it was caused by sawdust(?) as I had loads of specs of it in the bag.
Once they're installed you can't notice them anyway. They did however cause small air bubbles when putting on the stickers. Then again my mudflaps are blue and not black. |
Don't think the colour has n e thing to do with it, it must just be the way they are, like u sed they will look ok once on, get sum pics up of ur car pal

Am I just being petty guys please help, I have alway used scoobyworld for parts and bits and bob,
I have got little defects on my flaps, have a look, are yours like this. They are like little dimples and grooves in the rubber. I have cleaned them to, if this is how they are then fine but I was expecting a mirror shine? |
sorted it with neil,

They have had trouble with black ones, send bak n I will replace or chuck boiling water on them and that should do it
|
To clarify - we've had a few (and I mean a few) sets in the past that had the small pitting marks, and the black sets show it more. Seems to disappear once they've been on the car for a few days anyway.
Sold thousands of sets now and only ever had less than a handful returned for exchange. Its not a problem with every black set. I mentioned the boiling water trick as we'd found that works well at completely removing any pitting. Drop them back and more than happy to swap them out for you or refund. http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/7622/60973999.png The left one is a little bent at the moment, I'll straighten it up later. I used the supplied screws for the left one but I used a combination of screws and cable ties on the right one. Cable ties make the job a lot easier. |

Cheers neil, will try the boiling water thing but they seem to be improving in the sun.
Might try them in the conservatory as it gets bloody warm in there. |
