do you do multi-car insurance? me and the mrs are with admiral but their customer service is awfull.

Tony@Greenlight 17 May 2013 07:17 PM

Hi shreksta,

Thanks for posting within our thread.

Whilst we do not currently offer an official multi-car product, we are able to mirror your NCB to a 2nd vehicle and our products also allow concessions where you own a 2nd vehicle, or are covering a lower mileage upon your 2nd car.

All of which achieves a similar result to the Multi-Car product that Admiral offer :thumb:

We'd welcome the chance to help, so if you would like us to take a look at this for you simply call us on 01277 376000, visit our website at www.greenlightinsurance.co.uk or PM me your contact details and we'll call to run through this with you.

Kind regards

Tony

P.S. We're very modification friendly and cover modifications upon a like for like basis.

Hi James,

Thanks for your custom and for taking the time to post about your own personal experiences when arranging your cover.

We've been in business for an awfully long time and we are a genuine specialist, who has a proven pedigree for covering performance, modified and cherished (inc. kit, custom, classic) vehicles.

Most of our staff own and run (or have owned and ran) the types of vehicles we arrange cover for, meaning we can totally relate to our customers. Which is another factor that provides us with a better understanding of our customers and through the common ground we share on a personal level also brings us closer to our customers.

We're also modification friendly and have a good understanding of the impact (on a practical level), along with the merit for carrying out each respective modification.

Our policy features (a couple of which you mention) are relevant, with like for like cover (which was championed by us back in 1996) being included as standard under our specialised modified car products. Trackday cover and agreed value are also options under several of our main products.

Your kind words are gratefully appreciated :thumb:

Kind regards

Tony

It's the sort of customer service on insurance I like. He was extremely helpful and ran me rough all the benefits of a policy to suit me.

I actually rang today and accepted the quote he gave me the other day, didn't speak to Neil today. But just thought I'd put a post up on here for anyone interested about Greenlight.

Covered on my standard UK turbo (although I added 17's today) with a mod friendly scheme (nice to know if I do decide to change anything) which light mods don't effect premium and they offer track cover for £45 a time. I did get a better offer from A Plan on price but gave the business to Greenlight as I was impressed with Neil's work on the phone and what seemed a genuine interest. Plus A plan don't do track cover (prob never use it but it's nice to know it's there if I do get myself in gear)

Boss of Greenlight should be pleased to know Neil is pitching a great service to potential customers! Keep it up.

jameswrx 17 May 2013 08:10 PM

No problem Tony. The chap I spoke to today (apologies for not remembering his name) was very helpful too and was great running me through the mods thing. Just thought I'd say about Neil because he did the leg work on the sale & pitched it to me in a friendly way. So many times you ring insurance companies and you feel like you're inconveniencing them. If all your staff work like these two I've spoken to, you've got it sussed.

Tony@Greenlight 07 June 2013 11:14 AM

Thanks James,

We've only ever been a specialist Insurance provider and have always operated on this basis.

Most of our staff own and run the types of cars that we Insure. They're genuinely into their cars, which really helps when dealing with people who are also into their cars.

In a world dominated by large robotic call centres, it's nice to see that people still appreciate the friendly human approach :thumb:

Kind regards

Just got a quote from Greenlight for my RA. No sucking of teeth when declaring mods, no Humming or Erring. Just a very competitive quote, track day cover is also very good value.
Must get on and finish the car.....

Hi Steve,

Thanks for thinking of us for you Type RA.

Glad that you found us easy to deal with.

Trackday cover is an option with several of our Underwriters and is likely to cost between £45-£85 per event depending upon the specific Insurer.

Another useful feature is that we offer like for like replacement for after market parts upon your vehicle.

Good luck with finishing your project work, hopefully it'll go smoothly for you.

Kind regards

Tony

Brucant 11 August 2013 07:25 PM

Currently insured with you top blokes at greenlight, and when i took out the policy with you, you said i could add mods 'free of charge' as long as there were no bhp gains, just had fmic installed, will this be a 'free upgrade'? Thanks

Tony@Greenlight 27 August 2013 09:17 AM

Hi Brucant,

Thanks for the PM.

Several of our modified/performance car products rate upon BHP and providing the enhancement that you've got planned for your vehicle doesn't push you to the next BHP rate banding there would be no charge for the amendment.

Kind regards

Tony

Just insured my Sti with you have to say really pleased with the service spoke to Neil very helpful guy good price and sensible excess and the track day cover for £45 is a bonus
it is nice to talk to someone who is interested in listening to what you have to say and is knowledgable about cars
I did get other quotes but in the end decided that overall yours seemed the best deal
Many thanks
Kev

Tony@Greenlight 29 November 2013 05:22 PM

Hi Kev,

Thanks for your custom (and for taking the time to share your personal experience in dealing with us).

Most of our people own and run (or have owned and ran) the types of cars that we cover, which means we have common ground with our customers.

We may work within Insurance, but most of us are also petrol heads. Which helps when covering the types of vehicles (ie. performance, modified, custom, kit, 4x4, classic) that we do.

You'll find our policy cover (inc. trackday option, like for like replacement of modified parts and agreed value options) is relevant and where your Impreza isn't an everyday use vehicle to you we allow discounts where lower mileage use is required.

We can usually 'mirror' your No Claims Discount across from other cars in your name, which lets you keep your NCB to use on another vehicle.

Thanks once again for your business, it's gratefully appreciated :luvlove:

Kind regards

Tony

insurance

just a quick word to say how unhappy i am with green light ,i took a policy out on my subaru on the 14/01/14 and sold the car yesterday,i then purchased a mazda6 mps which i am led to believe is cheaper to insure and was told by green light that the money i had paid for subaru plus a administration charge of £25 would also be added to this,i have spoke to a plan who gave me a much better price and insured me with markerstudy(this is also who is insuring me for subaru may i add),so i fail to see how they can charge me more for the mazda!!!!!!

Kedlestone 22 January 2014 10:40 AM

Did you mention to Greenlight that you had a better quote with the same insurer (marketstudy) from another broker? I had a similar story although when my renewal came around with Greenlight I shopped around first, Adrian flux offered me a better rate but with the same insurer so when I went back to Greenlight they said it was fine and matched it. Problem solved.

steve71 22 January 2014 10:50 AM

yes i mentioned this to a guy called darren who was very unhelpful and still they advised it would be same price plus admin charge of £25,rang them again this morning and the say best they can do now if same price with £15 admin charge,i will be going to A plan now after speaking to a very helpful lady called clare who got me good price,i certainly won't be going back to green light as the customer service i have received is RUBBISH!!!!!!

Kedlestone 22 January 2014 10:52 AM

Fair enough, hopefully the OP will take note of this.

Tony@Greenlight 22 January 2014 11:03 AM

Hi Steve,

Sorry to hear that you've experienced difficulty.

The policy that you had arranged for the Subaru on 14th January 2014 would have been an annual policy, based upon the best deal we could source for the Subaru. Had we been aware of the impending sale within a week, our protocol would have been to find an option that would cater for both vehicles.

It is a bit strange that Markerstudy would knowingly compete against themselves, as this is something specifically excluded from all broker schemes and would be of interest to Markerstudy's audit team. Particularly as we would have discussed the change of vehicle with Markerstudy as a result of your contact with us in relation to your change of vehicle, who would have been involved with discussing the terms applied for the new vehicle.

Although (thinking aloud), for an additional premium to be charged when swapping from a Subaru to an MPS the Mazda must have been fairly extensively modified.

If you can PM me your contact detail, i'd be happy to take a look at this for you. As we have a sizeable account with Markerstudy and clearly wish to "express our view" as to Markerstudy being used to undercut themselves by A-Plan.

I look forward to speaking with you.

Kind regards

Tony

Kedlestone 22 January 2014 11:08 AM

It might be worth pointing out to marker study that they also tried undercutting themselves with my renewal tony. Adrian Flux did the quote through marker study which was initially cheaper than my renewal with yourselves. You did match the quote but like you said it might be worth mentioning.

Tony@Greenlight 22 January 2014 11:15 AM

Hi Steve,

For you to arrange cover upon a Subaru last week, we were clearly offering a decent service and the best deal for this vehicle. If we had been offering a sub standard service or unacceptable cover you would not have purchased the policy.

Had we been aware of the impending change of vehicle the week after arranging the policy with us, we would have had the opportunity to seek terms for the MPS when discussing the Subaru.

When contacting our office to change the vehicle we would have advised your Insurer's standard administrative charge for a mid term adjustment is £25 (+ipt).

It sounds as though we have spoken with your Insurer to request a reduction to this charge to £15.00. Again, this doesn't seem poor service.

I am happy to look at this for you, but in fairness you're calling our service "rubbish" based upon you not getting exactly what you want.

If you would be happy for me to investigate this for you, I'll ensure we review all contact and calls with us. With your permission I will respond in detail within this thread.

Kind regards

Tony

So would be good for you to explain how the same insurer can give me a price of £439 yet with your admin charge your price is £514,and as for calling your service rubbish for not getting what I want, 1.the guy called Darren wasn't helpful at all as far as he was concerned it was £25 admin charge or nothing and 2.it doesn't matter to me who insures car as long as I get good price which seems to me this insurance bussines is very fishy when same insurer can give me a £80 difference in quotes!!!!

Tony@Greenlight 22 January 2014 12:27 PM

Hi Steve,

Having reviewed the call, our adviser was efficient and explained the charge required by your Underwriter for a mid-term change of vehicle with them.

We have covered your vehicle's successfully for the last 3 years and you have been a good customer. We've taken up the "fishy business" with your Insurer which has been looked into and the feedback we've received is this is unacceptable.

As discussed within our call a few minutes ago, we'll follow this up and will get back to you this afternoon.

Kind regards

Tony
