I don't think so Sonic. YHPM

Good question Sonic

I'm delighted to say, it will be in full force next year.

It was impractical for IB to take on the running of ScoobyLive, so we will be running it as normal, except we'll be spending a bit more time on it due to the reduction of other commitments! :)

Why is everyone who posts anything critical of the sale of SN given "UNWANTED" and/or INFRACTIONS?

Whilst some posts may not be that polite, none of them have been offensive.

Is free speech not permitted on ScoobyNet?

Of course if this post gets a pink or red ticket, everyone will know the answer.

New_scooby_04 03 December 2007 02:29 PM

if you receive an infraction for simply criticising SN in a polite and non-offensive/trolling way, simply report it ot the mods and they will reverse it. As for the post evaluation, well, people are entitled to their opinion about your opinion lol! ;) :D

My comment was perfectly clear and absolutely pertinent to the sale of SN which is why I am responding in this thread because this IS the relevant place.

Both in this thread and in others where there has been a reference that is not congratulatory about the sale, the posters have almost universally been given pink or red tickets.

Now, either people are permitted their view on the sale or they are not epewcially as others have pointed out that they comprise the website for with no membersthere would be no site regardless of how whizzy it might be.

We members, paid up or otherwise, either have free speech here even if it does not suit the past or present owners or we don't.

Currently it appears that we don't unless, perhaps, you'd like to comment without the "what on earth" attitude that one does not expect from the Webmaster who should be impartial.

Or will you throw your weight around and ban me . . . again!

ex-webby 03 December 2007 09:26 PM

Right.

This has nothing to do with the sale of scoobynet.

Feel free to post a question about why certain posts receive bans, negative ratings, or any other kind of administrative action in the appropriate place : ScoobyNet Policy.

This is a simple and straight forward request. Further posts of this nature will result in infractions or bans for this trolling account, and further (possibly permanent) infraction points adding to your main account.

hoskib 03 December 2007 09:48 PM

fair play in my book, a hell of a lot of time has gone into getting scoobynet where it is and what's wrong with getting something back to compensate for many years of hard graft?

i haven't read much beyond the 2nd page so apologies if this has already been said but my take on the future scoobynet is that if it's continued to be moderated to a fair level (as i feel it is with most threads) then i doubt most of us will notice much of a difference.

hopefully it's not mucked about with too much, but in fairness why would you buy a succesfull website then cock it up by putting your own slant to it?

good luck on future projects, but before you leave could you speed the site up a bit?;)

This commentary IS to with the tile of this thread and is therefore completely relevant. It is is certainly NOT trolling.

Personally I have no problem at all with the sale but I have noted, as have others here and elsewhere, that anyone who does criticise the website sale [which is what this thread is about], or is less than complimentary about the sale gets pink or red tickets.

I couldn't care less whether the sale raises ten bob or 2 CD-roms that belong to the government, the point remains that adverse discussion about the sale - which is what this thread is about - gets flak.

The duty of care to the members of a forum by a good webmaster is to remain even-handed even if your personal view differs from those expressed whether politely, firmly or, even on occasion, rudely.

So, with specific reference to the sale of the website [which is what this thread is about], will you continue to pink or red flag SN members who express adverse views?

ex-webby 03 December 2007 11:34 PM

THERE ARE NO CHANGES PLANNED

Lisawrx 03 December 2007 11:54 PM

Before Nooby can jump in again, good luck for the future Simon, hope all works out well for you, and I look forward to the book.:)

To Nooby, consider that it is most likely to be several members of the board who are negatively rating your posts, and others, not Simon, as they are often not constructive.

If you have a major problem with the sale, voice it, if all you want to do is ruin a thread by dragging in other issues, then take on the chin as to how the community reacts- not Simon.

mickywrx 04 December 2007 12:02 AM

Noobyscooby,

You, seemingly, are a troll, plain and simple. Possibly very simple.

SN users rate your post's not admin/mods.

Does that not tell you something?

Simon alluded to you having a main account, which may be banned.

Curious, is this main account an established, non trolling one? If so, how about you cut the pseudonym's out, and let people know who you actually are?

Webby, please accept my apologies, but some things need to be said at times.

ex-webby 04 December 2007 12:04 AM

OK OK Guys

That's it now. No more please.

adyhicut 04 December 2007 10:22 AM

Well done Simon.

Thanks for all the hard work you and the team have done over the years in making this scooby community one of the best.
