Hi Shaun,

The new Billet wheels are no bigger than the wheels they replace, some are actually smaller !

They are 33% lighter which helps spool up and response.

The new aerodynamic blade design helps them flow more air which makes more power at the same boost levels as their non billet brothers, so win win situation :thumb:

Hi Kev,
Thanks for the response.

I have done a bit of research on it now. :)

wrxbart 10 January 2010 08:21 PM

will keep a look out for the 35 results if i can get a billet 35 with .82 housing to spool as quick as my standard 35 with .63 think i will be having one.More power and same spool yes please

Hi,
Kev can you please clarify if the sc36 results are with billet or non billet internals? If it is non billet what is expected of the billet version?

Thanks

Hi,
the one tested is the non billet version, we wont receive the billet 36 untill late Jan.

We will have to wait and see what it performs like but if the other billet results are anything to go by it should be good :thumb:

cheers
Kev

Hi,
we are going to test the turbo on a back to back basis using a car owned by a customer of ours, to be fair not sure of the exact engine spec but I am sure he will post it up soon :D

The plan is to run the car on our dyno with its standard GT35R, adjust the map if it needs adjusting and get an accurate figure to work from, we will then remove the turbo, replace it with the billet version and go again. :thumb:

Our customer has invited Paul from Zen to map the car on our dyno, this will give us independent results, hopefully good ones :luxhello:

Thanks for your interest.

cheers
Kev

Always trying to catch me up mate ;)

stevebt 22 January 2010 09:21 PM

Is that right, I'm only 1mph behind your topspeed run with less power ;) My 1/4's are crap as I admit I can't change gear but top speed is an idea on the cars power ;)

H4RDY-P1 22 January 2010 09:46 PM

bit off topic but what 1/4's are you both running ?,i did an 11.5 @ 126mph,no launch or anti lag and that was with low boost 1.6 bar. in a newage.

stevebt 22 January 2010 10:25 PM

Your doing better than me as I can only manage 11.9 @ 127mph and thats been done a few times :(

Mad Hammer 23 January 2010 08:02 AM

10.55 backed up with 10.56 with poor 60fts @ 1.75+ !

Steve, agreed you were not far behind mate but I backed out of it early ;) I will give you the bigger balls award if you take it over 170 ! Sy did 178 taking it to the absolute limit of the runway.

It is amazing what the billet wheel does :D

Hi,
we are testing with Clive and Paul Thurs 4th Feb.

I dont know who you are so cannot comment on the exhaust housing on your turbo, sorry.

joz8968 27 January 2010 11:26 PM

Adam/Kev, reading through this thread has given me renewed 'hope' for my turbo options. I have a Zen built 2.0 with STi 3/4 pistons and STi v.9 rods, ACL bearings, etc.... BUT... still has the v.1 WRX hydro heads :(.

My motor should be good for this side of 400bhp and the main players WERE a 20g or 18g. But I'm not too sold on their inconsistant top end performance/figures.

Would the SC42, or even the SC46, outperform either in spool and top end? Would the billet SC46 spool the same or better than the non-billet SC42 - indeed is there going to be a SC42 billet anytime soon, too?! Also, how would the FP HTA68 fair against any of the SC42/46 turbos?

Basically, my brief - if possible, on my soft cams - is to try to attain 400 (or as close as) but with as early spool times as poss (don't we all?)... and it looks like a SC46 billet or SC42 could do it!...

Any help/advice is appreciated

joz8968 27 January 2010 11:37 PM

...I'm getting ahead of myself re the SC46 billet - will have to wait till next week. :D

Hi,

I was going to mention that :D

The spool on the billet 46 will hopefully be better than the SC42 with a much higher top end than the standard SC46, if this is the case we will cease to do the SC42 :thumb:

The SC46 runs a 46 llb wheel, hence its name, the billet one will run a 49 llb wheel but the wheel will be 33% lighter therefore spool should be improved along with top end performance, win win we hope.

Hope that kind of answers your questions

cheers
Kev
