Looks awesome as always man.
|
Cheers mate, I'm just looking forward to making a bit more progress.

Fitted some basic Mintex pads to keep me going ahead of a full-on brake upgrade, only to discover one of the pistons on my brakes had seized. Good ol' brute force eventually sorted it for now, but the brake upgrade is now needed sooner rather than later - another expense that I don't need whilst waiting for the respray:(
|
did you use a big hammer :)
|
Yep, and a vice:D
|
Same happend on my old Impreza mate.

That's not a join, the silicon is only there because it occasionally rubs on the bonnet, so prevents the pipe rubbing directly on the bonnet:D

Latest update - detailed pics sent to Prodriverules so he can quote for the respray:thumb:
Got a set of Blob rear lights to fit:D Had a nightmare on Friday when I knocked the level to cancel the remote boot opening - had to climb into the boot through the back seat to open the boot up, and she blew the cabin fuse which meant no interior lights, stereo or alarm, but the fuse was under the bonnet and not under the dash so it left me stumped for a while until I realized were it was:brickwall |
Glad to hear your re-spray is starting to come to fruision, looking forward to seeing the twist on the DBM you have planned. Let the saving begin ;)
I have had the cabin fuse go on me a few times on other cars I have owned, it's one of the easy fix faults that drives you made for a few hours trying to find the cause :thumb: |
Got your email Jon,i'll have a look through and get back to you on the quote mate:thumb:

The blobs make a difference to the rear of the bugeye, I've changed my blobs to the Spec D Hawkeye ones now.
Looking forward to seeing the paint work Jon! Ricey |
Busy week this week between my car, others and work. Anyway the update:
I did some work on my mirror base plates prior to getting them wrapped, just to make them look a little more like the real deal rather than an after-thought: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04082.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04083.jpg I've also added some silvatec bulbs to my front and rear indicators:D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04080.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04084.jpg Today I cracked on and changed the plugs for a cooler grade, must remember to buy smaller hands for next time, and changed the oil to Millers CFS 10w40 fully synth with a blue-print filter. Also fitted the CDF ALK, that was a pig to get it all to line up - will confirm any improvements after the wheel alignment is done. I also fitted some red poly exhaust hangers and a perrin gear shifter poly bush set to replace the rubber sh!t that was on the car. Next steps are to get the front bumper off, painte the FMIC pipes and change the blue pipes to red, mesh the FMIC opening and probably flush the number plate mount just to finish the bumper off properly, then hopefully off for the respray in the next month or so (assuming I can continue to manage to resist all the bargains that keep coming up):wonder: |
Today's work involved fitting the new cold air feed which required taking the wing off and modding it a little to make some room around the FMIC pipes - 2 completely seized nuts later that snapped off their heads (I don't know my own strength) and some drilling and it was sorted.
Also painted the FMIC lower pipes that'll sit behind the bumper - nice and stealth, expect the for the red coupling hoses that I'm about to order:D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04085.jpg Also decided to fettle the front bumper a little more, were I'd deleted the number plate I cut it out and used my soldering iron to weld it back flush and then filled - more work required to complete but you get the picture... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04086.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04087.jpg Also opened up the FMIC opening ready for meshing:D |
Top work, will be a top motor when done.
|
Looking good Jon. :thumb:

So continuing...
Cold air feed:D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04091.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04097.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04096.jpg FMIC pipes fitted:thumb: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04090.jpg And the bumper, number plate mounting set back and smoothed... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04089.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04101.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04100.jpg ...and the bumper meshed with a cutout for the tow hook:norty: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04102.jpg And finally, a bit of blending on the bumper vents:D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04099.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC04098.jpg |
Somemore good work done there Jon. Any date for your re-spray yet?
|
No dates yet, still waiting for the quote:wonder:
|
I know he is very busy at the moment as he has my grill for colour coding (which is turning into a pig of a job for him :( )
Drop him a pm mate, the sooner you get a date the sooner you can stop spending ;) He normally replies to my messages quite late in the evening. :thumb: |
