Nope really nothing stood out at all, the specs are nothing special either, i thought apple were touting the X as being revolutionary? horse and bullsh1t and the "notch" looks like it could be bloody annoying to begin with tbh, but i will await the game changing features that any updates will bring

Nothing to see here, nothing new, average specs, ****ing lol mate, you're either brain dead or blind.

If you'd said that about the 8 I might have somewhat agreed, compared to the 7 it's not groundbreaking, way ahead in performance than a lot of laptops but nothing compared to it's previous guise. But you're saying that something Apple say is a step change in mobile computing is nothing outstanding, I can't help but laugh, it reminds me of the iPhone launch... "My Blackberry..."

Only 13mnths ;) this was an issue on some of the 7's too I've read, sounds like Apple's QC is lacking to say the least! How the feck can you release something without testing the earpiece properly :s Chinese tatt :)

The same way you release a phone that's more than a little bit prone to spontaneously combusting...

That burn's warmed it up in here a bit.

I'm unboxing now, very nice indeed, lovely colour, has a CE mark on the back which I thought was going, oh well, into it's case tomorrow.

Super impressed with the set up, take a photo of your old device and enter the passcode, done, slick.

JonsGreenGoblin 26 September 2017 11:54 AM

I had the 6 and needed a new phone anyway so got the 8.. so apart from a few new bits of software it’s exactly the same haha.. ohwell! I shouldve waited for the X!!

Yep agreed the 8 is poo too, rather keep hold of the 7 for work tbh. I didn't say average I said they are nothing special comparing them like for like to current phones. Apple are still behind the competition lets face it. Seriously what does it have that is "a step change for mobile computing"??? oh apple said so, right.

It's an S revision, always have been the best of the generation. If santa brings me an X I'll be chuffed but I buy the top line and my budget was under £1000, I wanted it now, so nope.

I'm already pretty happy as I've come from a 6+, force touch and taptic have only been on my watch till now. I haven't touched AR yet which performs as well as the X I believe and isn't available on the 6. Side by side the displays on my two are worlds apart, the true tone thing is spot on, and yet I'm expecting my old mum to get another 2 or 3 years out of the old one.

dpb 26 September 2017 12:50 PM

He hasn't even registered the force touch and taptic yet ..

( never really registered Yet , with my 6s)

bioforger 26 September 2017 04:07 PM

jonc 26 September 2017 05:05 PM

WTF! The old iPhone 7 is faster than the new iPhone 8!! And from a pro Apple tester and site! This never happened with the 6s vs 7.....

I haven’t yet but I 100% will give it to her for a gift. Serious note, there’s a gift limit per year. Tax and all that bull****.

JackClark 26 September 2017 05:14 PM

The glass back is excellent. Grippy. I’m tempted to stick a quadlock mount on it rather than the case but I’ve seen what happens to those who don’t use one. I **** you not my 6+ is near perfect.

Look at this bull**** photo, if my mum doesn’t want it I’m using this for the advert.

It's not all about you and your collection of hacks and bodges. It's never been simpler for a massive majority of mobile device users to share gifs... that they don't even know they're creating. You have no vision.

You think I know nothing about animated gifs, look at my profile picture, that was a current mac back then.

bioforger 26 September 2017 06:35 PM

No hack or bodge, standard feature on an android camera for years, face it jack you are behind the times.

You have no clue. I’m not claiming something is new, I know it’s never been better and more accessible. It’s not going to change your world so why not just jog on.

bioforger 26 September 2017 08:16 PM

Yea thats why you posted that gif claiming it was almost a live picture :lol1:

this is new with iOS 11. I don’t give a **** that you can do it on Android, some Android.

When I said a few steps I meant swipe up, two clicks and post here as a mov or a gif.

And? on my s7e, it's the same deal, doubleclick to launch the cam, then post/share anywhere. Like i keep saying nothing new, next.

Come on then, which version of Android? My Google Foo is calling bull****

An0n0m0us 27 September 2017 09:19 AM

It's not built into android but looks like Samsung include it on their cameras on flagship models.

However plenty of camera apps on play store open it up for everyone. Just tried using Camera MX on my P2 works perfectly.

bioforger 27 September 2017 10:18 AM

It's not just Samsung who include it. Its been a cam option for bloody ages, anyway who cares, its a sh1tty feature imo that works for a limited purpose.
