There was a Lambo on TV last night and I said to the wife, "I'm sure my scoob would keep up with that." wife replied "On that note, I'm off to bed."

lol

She's onto you! ;)

JGlanzaV 23 October 2015 07:27 PM

LOL, im fairly sure it would not Matthew lol....

Having raced an aventador, even with the power to weight ratio been on my side, microsecond gear changes mean he is pulling out 3 car lengths every time I went for the next gear....

Thats bloody quick to pull 3 car lengths on 500+bhp classic!! Thats the problem with these new cars is that the gearing is that fast and smooth with no dip in revs, its just effortless how they go through the gears!!!

Another 10-15 years you wont be able to buy a brand new car with a manual box:cry:

id hazard a guess mathew has never been in a lambo.
i have been around silverstone in an aventador and bedford autodrome in a hurrican.

a subaru will never ever ever ever get anywhere near especially a wrx

JGlanzaV 23 October 2015 07:42 PM

Especially anything with sub 600hp anyways!

I was running on low boost at the time which was 535hp, I gave it absolute death and even though technically I should be faster, there is no way on this earth that I could keep up as I cannot physically smash the gears home any faster.... (I do smash the gears home pretty well, as my 1st - 2nd gear change half way through a 1.90 60ft time will attest! Also the smashed 6spd I have in my workshop!)

JGlanzaV 23 October 2015 07:44 PM

And just for posterity, I have video proof of my 1.9 60ft with a 1st-2nd gear change in it, in the wet ;)

mickywrx 24 October 2015 10:31 PM

Doubt Matts car would keep up with a Corgi, Lambo. :D

I've driven a Lambo Gallardo. It felt as quick as my WRX but with far better brakes and handling.

Road and track tested the Lambo I drove at 12.1 seconds for the 1/4 mile and 0-60 in 3.8 seconds which I feel I'd easily manage on a dry track.

Subaru v rs4 - YouTube

Aye, mine was a 1.8 60ft on a damp cold track with muddy budget tyres and compression losses that technically had me running on 3 cylinders. A 700bhp STI managed a 1.9 60ft at the same time and P1hardy managed a 1.8 and 1.9 in dry conditions with his 700bhp Newage STI.

I also managed the fastest reaction time of the day so basically if any car rolls up next to me at the lights, my WRX has a chance to pip it to the next set!

Brill car imo.

JGlanzaV 26 October 2015 06:45 PM

There are drivers and screw drivers, Im doing 1.7's in the dry on my road tyres, car has recorded a 1.3 60ft too, ill try find the slip....

Do you have proof of a 2.9 0-60?

I used a pretty advanced online 0-60 calculator with my drag time stats, clocking up 12.6 seconds at just 104 mph points to traction over power. I had to make the time up somewhere. Lad who lives near me managed a 15.5 second pass in his Focus RS at 110 mph! He spun up in the 1st 3 gears. I also beat Big Arf's old cars 0-60 foot and his car is over 700bhp and P1Hardy's 700bhp STI's 0-60 foot time!. TBH my 0-60 foot was just about the fastest of the day beating superbikes and hot rods that attended.

Scary thing is I did my 12.6 second run with spinning muddy tyres on a damp cold track!

My car only has 330bhp but I've done a lot of post cylinder mods to get a ridiculous amount of that 330 down at the wheels. [one of them classified]

RS_Matt 11 December 2015 01:15 PM

Autocar state The Cosworth CS400 STI will do the strip in 12.75 seconds and has a 0-62 mph of 3.7 seconds [0-60 mph 3.5 seconds]

http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/...i-cs400?page=1

My WRX with 60bhp less than the Cosworth STI manages the strip in 12.68 seconds in poor conditions. Because the Cosworth crosses the line at 107mph means that I've chipped away at that 3.5 sec 0-60 time to make up enough time to beat a 395bhp STI.

Do you get the rationale?

395 bhp Cosworth STI 12.75 @107 0-60 3.5 secs
333 bhp Subaru WRX 12.68 @104 0-60 2.9 secs

I do have slips that timed me at 4.5 seconds when I had under 300bhp and was hitting 13.3 sec runs, I had more power for the last run, low friction oils and less weight.

mickywrx 11 December 2015 08:24 PM

So, where in that video did you go from 0-60 in 2.9 seconds?

Or is 2.9 your 60 foot times? :D

JGlanzaV 11 December 2015 08:25 PM

You can speculate as much as you like matt, I would like to seesome proof. Pictures or it didn't happen etc!

That means with 500hp, less weight and a better gearbox, launch control and flat shifting I should be. Doing a 0.9second 0-60.....

RS_Matt 11 December 2015 08:40 PM

EVO magazine did some tests and the 437bhp RCM BUG manages the same 1/4 time as me but crosses the line at 114mph. The RCM car was timed at 3.9 for it's 0-60, so it's safe to say mine is well south of that.

There's plenty of things to put my cars performance into perspective. TBH it probably hit around 3.3 secs for my 12.6 second pass but in the dry I'd be very very confident of smashing 3 secs.

Like I say Big Arf's old 700bhp+ STI and P1hardy's 700bhp+ STI both recorded a slower 0-60 foot than mine. Traction and shifiting gets hard with increased power but in ideal conditions and good driving a 500bhp Subaru should be around 3 seconds.

Obviously I can match them through decreased weight, better ratios, lower tranny losses and a lot of mods centering around stopping transmission losses.

Hell, an EVO 5 RS is quoted at 4.2 and STI type R at 4.3 both with just 276bhp!

90bhp from a decat and no tune or boost increase...

...and they say my claims are bizarre!

JGlanzaV 12 December 2015 07:16 AM

Matt it is getting a little tiresome now....

Rather than trying to be billy big bollocks with no actual proof, go out there and do it and you will have some credibility, until that point what you are claiming is total bollocks.

Made up internet speculation, bring it down and race me and we'll see how that goes....?

And just to be clear, you don't have better ratios. You have better 1-2 ratio, BUT that is negated when you have a decent engine as like mine I can rev it to over 8.5k, so It will pull out half a length on you while you changed gear with your weak gearbox and engine at 7k ;)

Would it piss on your chips some more that mine did all that on standard fuel pressure and 380cc injectors? :lol1::lol1::lol1:

I hope you have special drive train loss reducing modifications..... Otherwise its just going to be slow and rubbish!!!!

:cry: Nothing special in the drivetrain area, it doesn't even have a pink boxed Exedy clutch or a short shift gear lever.:cry:

JGlanzaV 12 December 2015 08:16 PM

Wow, it must be like 9 seconds 0-60 or something!

With my lightweight twin plate clutch and all the other mods Im well into the 0-60 in less than 1 second bracket....

60-105 is only 3.4s though so it's all good. ;) It is a daily driver, after all.

Sneeze and you'll miss passing 60. :D
