1. Do not hesitate in purchasing if you are concerned with vendor. I had numerous problems along the route , all being my circumstances and not the product. Major Sarcasm did everything he could to help me and provided me with more after market care than alot of major retailers :notworthy
2. My car drives much more smoothly and when not toe-ing it, returns a better mpg. Gloucester to Reading @ 80 on £40 , and still had good quarter tank left, so not much more than £25 :)
3. What you`re waiting to hear, the performance has increased, very nicely. Going from my TD04 to TD05, then TD05 plus chip was night and day. Pulls really nicely throughout. Most cost effective part i have purchased so far, with satisfaction per pound in mind.

I`ll be popping it on the rollers again soon and put the graph, with the one done 2 months ago (94 WRX Wagon standard) on this thread so comparisons can be made.

Thanks again Major S.

Excellent news, Neil :D Glad you got it sorted, happy to help :thumb:

As above, any left ?? :)

Jonathan Bradley 12 June 2010 04:18 PM

Ive used one of these chips on my STI RA Gained 18bhp and I get on average on extra 50kilometers per tank.

Great results for the money Id say.

Major_Sarcasm 13 June 2010 11:05 PM

Those people that have PM'd me over the last couple of days and are waiting for a response, I'll answer tonight/tomorrow morning all the outstanding. Sorry for delay guys, I've been up country this weekend visiting my Dad who's not well.

As the STIs run more boost as standard, I'd say that wasn't too bad. Good news on the extra fuel economy too. The biggest gains are from the UK cars as they are down on power vs the imports, but the WRXs see good gains too. We have a slightly different map for the STIs and lots of people report that general drivability is improved nicely. It's not all about power!

gazturbo1 22 June 2010 10:32 PM

just to let everyone know, i bought one of these chips and now i have fixed my duff coil packs im very happy with my results, firstly fuel consumption is definatly better, and it does feel a lot quicker id like to get it on the rollers really and see what power it is.
just like to say a massive thanks to major_sarcasim excellent after sales service

Socket went in the post today my friend. As I said in the PM, there should've been one with the chip in the package, but no matter. Not a problem to send out another ;)

Major_Sarcasm 30 June 2010 12:45 PM

I've run out of chips; didn't manage to get many last time. Think I've sourced some more :Suspiciou but I'll update the thread if/when I can get some!

V555MAC 05 July 2010 10:31 AM

Could I fit one of these to my Prova ecu?, getting tired of paying for octane booster!!!!. Just wondered if the sockets are the same??.

Or can I get any 4 plug ecu (7D etc ) re-chipped to my car? ( V2 '555' STI )

Thanks Andrew

Major_Sarcasm 05 July 2010 05:50 PM

Hi Andrew

From doing a little Googling, it seems that the sockets are the same so a chip from me should fit and work the same as chipping any other ECU (I have a special map for the STI too). Alternatively, any pre-96 ECU will do (but a UK ECU will already have a socket fitted) and the firmware will be upgraded to Z4 regardless once the chip is in and enabled.

Major_Sarcasm 05 July 2010 05:50 PM

Double post... I'll edit this to be something funny later maybe ;)

How do crazy people go through the forest?
They take the psycho path.

V555MAC 05 July 2010 08:29 PM

I'll have one!!, should removing the prova chip and replacing it with your's be to difficult??:thumb:

Send me your paypal details:)

My car is a MY96 V2 '555' STI. Standard turbo, Walbro, titanium system from the cat back, V5 tmic, apexi ind kit and RCM pulley set.

Thanks Andrew:luxhello:

Major_Sarcasm 05 July 2010 10:07 PM

No chips currently mate (check the sig!). I'll hopefully have some soon though.

Titanium exhaust? Nice.

Major_Sarcasm 05 July 2010 10:07 PM

FFS! Double post again! Time for another lame joke then:

What did the fish say when he hit a concrete wall?
"Damn."

V555MAC 08 July 2010 09:19 AM

Keep us posted on stock please!!!

drischnie 12 July 2010 01:06 AM

hello,

does the chip make more power to an MY96 STi Version 2 too??
Cause this model has stock 275PS

Major_Sarcasm 12 July 2010 08:49 AM

Yes, the version 2 STI will make around 275bhp... in Japan, on 100 RON fuel. We have a special map for STIs with slightly modified values to suit the more aggressive cams. Couple that with more boost and you'll get more power than the stock map even on 97 RON.

I have never made wild power claims in this thread, preferring to keep it sensible. Not going to start now! Suffice to say, those that have the STI map have been very happy with it ;)

dj219957 12 July 2010 08:35 PM

I can vouch for these chips (when he has some more!) Ive fitted one to my 93 wrx and it drives really nice. I fitted a the chip into a uk ecu (which already had a socket fitted).
The car pulls harder and drives smoother. I am monitoring fuel consumption.
Im going to fit a decated downpipe this weekend too.
major sarcasm is very helpful and offers a good service.

Major_Sarcasm 12 July 2010 11:50 PM

Thanks, man. It's always good to hear feedback :)

Major_Sarcasm 16 July 2010 08:58 AM

If anyone is after a UK ECU (which should have a socket fitted from the factory), Matty has one for sale in this thread for 30 quid! Just ask him to pop the casing open to double-check.

Should have some more chips soon.

rogos 17 July 2010 07:57 AM

hi mate i have a pp chip in my wagon at the mo but have changed the tdo4 for a tdo5 so need a different map. i have got a spare chip with a crap map on it that only boosts to 13 psi would you be able to erase it and reprogramme it with your map and does your map hold peak boost to the red?

The answer is yes to both questions. However, boost will only be healthy if your coilpacks and boost control solenoid are in good condition. Be careful if you're running a TD05 with a TD04 map; the boost profile is different so the fueling may not be correct at certain points in the rev-range.

PM me if you want a chip re-programmed :)

all the running gear was replaced when i built the engine so its only a few years old, i have removed the polar performance chip with the tdo4 map now that i am running the tdo5, the ecu i am running on is a jdm z4 (blue label) so all should be well i binned the original 4b ecu because it was just pants. i have sent you a pm:D

forgot to mention that there are some blank eproms on ebay being sold in pairs just type in 27c1028 and they should come up on screen :thumb:

Major_Sarcasm 18 July 2010 03:02 PM
