2.33 running a 20% meth mix in a road car.

cheers
Kev

Certainly looks like the GT30 billet is a winner Kev,that result along with the recent result from pete`s GT30 powered car show almost identical graphs,i bet both are evil on the road.

P.S...is there a reason why some cars are run on the dyno in 4th gear as opposed to the usual 3rd gear, just noticed this car was a 3rd gear run and pete`s was a 4th gear run.:wonder::confused:

harvey 15 September 2011 01:23 PM

Thanks for the link guys.
I use either V-Power and up to 2 mls/l NF, added to the tank at the filling station or methanol 5%-20% depending on maps.
Usually I can add 50 litres plus at a time so any cross contamination is small.
Thanks for pointing out the history. I think it is important that if running NF it is added immediately prior to fueling with V-Power.
I suspect that as time goes on there will be a number of cases of corrosion or contamination from running high levels of methanol.
Sorry for the highjack.

just drove the car home ...... first drive with the sc46! .... strooth it feels strong! Cant wait to get a proper map on it!

See ya soon kev! :-)

wrx9181 16 September 2011 07:07 AM

What a turbo
Hopefully Lee and Glenn getting some info for all today

leeroywrx 16 September 2011 07:38 PM

my sc46 on my 2.0 forged p1 mad 460 bhp and over 400 torque and was backed off a little to save my 5 speed.graphs to follow soon :)

tempop1 16 September 2011 11:46 PM

Great result that leeroy. That running on straight v-power? Ive not seen a 2.0l run that much from a 2.0.

wrx9181 17 September 2011 06:41 AM

Yeah nice one Lee
What bar you dared to go to in the end?
Glad it went to plan mate

leeroywrx 17 September 2011 06:49 AM

Well the long wait was finally over yesterday for me and Lee as we met up with simon-JGM at the scoobyclinic to map the SC42 and SC46 billet turbo`s on our cars, heres my SC42 results.....

Mapped on straight v-power:thumb:

Attachment 53422

And with meth added.:thumb:

Attachment 53423

Held back to save the gearbox but outstanding result non the same and better than we expected from a 2.0ltr car,the drive home in the wet was funny and scarey at the same time.:norty::cuckoo:

Cant thank Simon/JGM enough for the hard work done mapping the car to perfection yet again, simon you are the man.:notworthy

Massive thanks to Kev and the scoobyclinic team for looking after us,the quality of service recieved is second to none.:thumb:

H4RDY-P1 17 September 2011 09:41 AM

Thats awesome that glen, bet your glad you went for the 42 na.

H4RDY-P1 17 September 2011 09:41 AM

Hi,

read the post again Pete. :D

First graph straight "V" power, 424.6 BHP, second graph 20% meth mix, 451.6 BHP. :thumb:

Stunning results for both Glen and Lee, SC46 doing performing as usual and the new SC42 doing exactly what it says on the tin, having the edge on spool which is exactly what it was designed for on a 2.0 ltr. ;)

Great mapping by Simon and a good day had by all.

cheers
Kev

I know its on meth but dint say what %.

andy00v7 17 September 2011 10:03 AM

Hi Kev how much did the sc42 have on spool on the sc46 ?
Andy

H4RDY-P1 17 September 2011 10:04 AM

Cracking results.

This is my sc46 meth graph.not as quick spool as Glenn sc42 but a little more power which is exactly what keV said it would do.there was talk of 500bhp when I change the gearbox to give the turbo its full potential so I'm over the moon with the result

Hi,

not much in it to be fair but the 42 billet had the edge by about 150 RPM, not a true back to back though as the turbo's were on two different cars. :)

As a stand alone test for the SC42 Billet it was a corker, doing exactly what it was meant to do. :thumb:

cheers
Kev

On the Litchfield twin scroll thread I queried as to wether the LM series were true twin scroll or just twin entry, it transpired that they were mere twin entry! I'm surprised this hasn't been picked up on. The SC series are true twin scroll this immediately puts them ahead of the LMs.

happydude303 17 September 2011 02:09 PM

That 42 looks great just what I was hoping for do you have some boost graphs forthe 42 on v power only I'e what boost and what revs at 1 bar of boost

Hi,

the SC range of billet twin scrolls are all real twin scrolls as we were utilising the original exhaust housings which have the two "snails" cast into them with twin waste-gate buttons, our new custom cast housing are the same, proper twin scrolls. :thumb:

Hi,

another quick up date for the subscribers to this thread, the latest billet wheel design fitted to a GT30, we may name it "GT30 Billet +". :thumb:

Attachment 53312

Please note we had to run the car in 4th gear as it just lit up all four wheels in 3rd, this makes the spool appear around a 1000 RPM less. ;)

Now off to santa pod tomorrow to see how it performs or if Mikee can break the gearbox casing again. :D

cheers

Kev

I'm after one for 05 sti only mods are full de cat 3" system 3 port green panel filter uprated pump my question is would I be daft going for the 46 as opposed the 42? Would it be to laggy for my car? As I would love 420ish but I'll know I'll want more in the future so hence my thoughts of buying the 46?? Thanks for the help

Hi,

this is exactly why we brought out the SC42 billet, some people think that the SC46 Billet will be a bit laggy and overkill, laggy its not by a long way but overkill on a 2.0 ltr it may be on some set ups. ;)

The 46 can tend to choke up a bit over 420 BHP on 2.0 ltr engines and I stress on some set ups only, whereas the SC42 Billet doesn't as it is designed for around 420 BHP and with its smaller exhaust wheel has a slight increase in spool. :thumb:

The 42 Billet has shown its capability to produce over 450 BHP with a 20% meth mix and there was more to come, Simon (JGM) held it back to save the standard gear box. :luxhello:

Both the turbo's are stunning, its a case of BHP verses spool but either way there is not much in it, and as I stated earlier, on a 2.0 ltr with certain set ups the SC46 Billet wont go over 420 BHP so you may as well go with an SC42 billet and gain a little spool, but unless you try the 46 we would never know if on your set up it would have worked fine. :wonder:

cheers
Kev

wrx9181 17 September 2011 04:49 PM

Craig
To get the most from any turbo you need supporting mods mate
Correct injectors headers air filter etc etc
Kev can advise you on this too I've got sc46 with same car as you and it isn't laggy at all
I've recommended alot of people I wouldn't do this if it wasn't amazing product
I've not tried 42 but looks on par eith 46 on Glenn and lees cars above
Mick

Brilliant result with the new + wheel. Lets hope it's bigger brother does the same ;)

I'll be helping Mikee out tomorrow at Pod, hopefully he will set a new target for me to go after :D

Hi Clive,

I hear our new GT35 Billet + is about to get tested on your car soon, lets hope it removes that tiny area of lag we were concerned about at the start of spool and a further increase in power. :thumb:

Thanks in advance for helping tomorrow, lets hope the weather holds. ;)

I am not sure how the drag car will perform as its gained power, lost weight got bigger tyres that apparently grow in size the faster it goes, completely different suspension and one of our syncro gear-kits in it instead of the dog box, typical for us never satisfied.

We also have one of our billet powered cars racing for the first time at Mallory tomorrow, lots going on. :D

cheers
Kev

Anger 17 September 2011 05:24 PM

Look forward to seeing how Mikee gets on tomorrow :)

I will be after a billet GT30 straight away in the new year looking at the great results your getting with them :thumb:
