exhaust wrap...?
I was looking at exhaust wrap over the weekend and wondered if anyone else would be up for it?
let the buying power of the scoobynet masses wreak havoc on the traders out there!!! initial thoughts were to go back to Dave Featherstone of demon tweeks fame for early info. can you put your names down please. |
i will have some,craig
|
Chrome has talked me into it!! I assume it's a diy job? What's involved?
|
Interested :)
|
Assuming this exhaust wrap is some type of lagging, I could do with some on my newely fitted downpipe.
|
would be interested
|
I think we could get 2" roll at 50' for a staggering £40 or near as dammit.
details to follow after supplier enquirey DT priced at £49 +vat/delivery I believe for the same roll. |
Peanuts, think you might consider 2 deals?
Deal 1 Wrap to do headers/up pipe (I'm on Chrome's Gruppe S GB) Deal 2 Wrap to do above and down pipe I think someone on Chrome's GB specified the lengths required to do as above. Anyway, if the deal is tape and strapping count me in certainly for 'deal 1' Still not sure if i will keep decat down pipe or fit a sport cat DP. 911 |
i'm interested
|
Yep, could be interested too (also in Chrome's BG for the Gruppe-S Headers); will this GB also include the stainless straps (similar to jubilee clip straps) to secure at each end?....buying just the wrap doesn't *usually* include these items (got loads of the stainless strapping left, but no clips!)
What sort of time-frame for closing this GB and delivering?....need to really get a wriggle on once the headers arrive, to tie up with Pat for a TEK3 remap... Cheers Spen |
I'm interested too.
|
Yep.. interested too. 2" for the downpipe and 1" for the headers.... plus the straps etc. Rally Design are very good on price. Also the temp at which the wrap operates needs to be looked at.... not all exhaust wrap will go to the temps you'll see at the haeders.
Tony. |
I'm interested too. Am planning on lagging my turbo and downpipe.
Bob |
Yes please. Wrap for headers, plus a roll of steel wire and some steel straps.
Thanks, Richard. |
you should consider the heat proof paint which seals the wrap and stops it from splitting if it gets wet and then very hot.
|
I will make enquiries to the supplier now, asking for a healthy discount on the products wanted.

Thanks DRB for the pc bit!
Only a few more...Is 10 the target? 911 |
not intitally, hadnt set a target.
but the more we get the more *leverage* I should be able to exert ;) Ive filled in the forms on their website for bulk discount and asked for a sliding scale for numbers ie 5,10,15, more etc. as soon as they get back Ill make another couple of enquiries to try for a price match type thing then its game on. |
righty ho.
just received email from agriemach and they are more than happy to play ball. Thank you for your email, we will be pleased to offer a discount to you. For quantities between 1 - 5 we can offer 10% and from 6 - 10 - 15%. If you were thinking of ordering higher quantities than 10, we will of course negotiate a higher discount. another thing which is nice is that they offer black coloured wrap (pound or so more) rather than the usual normal colour. can we start getting confirmations together to see what level discount we really are looking at. 1) Peanuts 2" roll for downpipe and 1" roll for headers 2) drb5 2" roll for downpipe and 1" roll for headers 3) Tone Loc 2" roll for downpipe and 1" roll for headers...
