I've never paid a bank charge in my life so have nothing to claim. Besides which, they're going to stiff us all back by making us pay a monthly fee for credit cards / bank accounts :(

I claimed back 2k from Halifax ,got the whole amount back to the pence.
Shy bairns get nowt. Took about 7 weeks but worth the wait. |

True,Snug. But people still think this is a con, its's not. I knew about it for atleast 6 months before it was splashed all over, but never bothered my arse. Glad i done something about it,2k back in my pocket.:thumb: |
My Daughter is already going through this process. I hope she wins.

I wish i was so stupid that i could not operate a bank account properly and i could also now claim back a couple of grand  :(
Can't wait to start paying to just have an account or for the return of yearly fees for credit cards thanks to the great unwashed all claiming back their charges, yaaaayyyyyy! |
2k in bank charges:eek:
2000/72months = approx 28quid per month:cry: That is assuming you have been charged every single month for the past 6 years which i find highly unlikely. Your credit rating must be through the floor. |

So this is to reclaim money from the bank if they charge you for going overdrawn?
Only ever happened to me a few times and each time I've gone to the bank and demanded they put it back. Each time they have done so. Is this the only charge we are talking about? |
Sorry for being so thick, but how do you rack up such high bank charges.
I am assuming going over overdraft limit? Bounced cheque charges ? R. |

Never thought of businesses moses, and I don't have the luxury of owning one :( Guess it can be a pain waiting on monies owed when you have bills and expenses to pay.

You can't claim back redemption penalties i.e. paying off a mortgage before a fixed term ends. I think you can only claim back the final payment charge which is normally about £200-300. i'll be paying my fixed term mortgage off early next month and it will cost me about £2.5k in redemption penalty :(, how I wish I could get out of paying that! :D
... unless you've remortgaged 10+ times this wont be worth thousands. |
Ah - bollox. Never mind. The thought was good while it lasted.

when u work for yerself mate u dont have the prob of some evil boss or a55hole manager breathing doon on yer neck i have been working since i woz 12 for my dad, after school i had the mosque , playtime and the weekends i used tae work 12 hr shifts on saturday and half day sundays, helping the staff at the shops or my dads office he made me work hard lol , i thank him, he made me work under the staff, it taught me humbleness and respect, he paid me a good wage since i woz 12 i used tae get 40 quid a week and then when i touched 15 i got 1100 a month, not bad for a 15 yr old :D and i done it all, work in the shops, manager, area manage for a few shops, stockroom lad , opening shops and also general manager and then director man it woz hard, im 30 now but i feel 45 lol coz i have been working since i woz wee and been married since i woz 16, awesome though :) i wish u all the best mate, God willing one day, if its written on your destiny u will own a good business, if u got a good job its less headaches of a business, if u r a cisco specialist or IT ETC, u make megabucks and no headaches of business problems, vat men and inland revenue and wages etc only downside of my business is, i hardly get holidays i took a holiday after 10 yrs a yr ago, if i leave it for the staff tae look after my business it goes down alot and some have been caught stealing and breaking the machines pathetic, some staff just dont give a damn, its the owners who suffer, very hard tae get good trustworthy staff nowadays all the best |

Sounds like you've done pretty well for yourself moses ;) Congratulations on the hard work and providing well for your family :)
Me, I skipped the paper rounds as a kid, couldn't and still can't get up in the morning :D Got myself a job at a supermarket though whilst at school with no family pushing, I just wanted some extra cash so got off my arse and went out to earn some :) Got a nice steady job (software development in a company doing thermal and electrical modelling for electronics) that pays me well enough to keep me and my missus living quite happily. It'd be nice to have more money and a nicer house, but we're quite happy how we are. I'm fortunate in that my mum and dad had very little to their names when I was young, so they strived and earnt every penny they could to bring us a better life and fortunately it's rubbed off on me. Does make me a tight git down the pub sometimes though when it comes to my round :D I hope those that have had the bank charges and are claiming them back learn the lesson as I don't think loopholes like this will be around forever. Take the financial lesson and look after your money and family better :) All the best moses, here's to a happy and content life ;) |
