250-350 for a '97 - 12 y/o pug = not worth much

1495 - blimey, you must have wanted that car and it must have shown - i am not trying to be clever BTW. Negotiating for stuff is a skill you will learn.
TBH around 400.00 is the max it is worth. The mileage is kind of irrelevant, it is a 12 y/o french car. pretty much base model, not a classic, not a sort ofter car as such. I would strongly suggest that next time you do the valuation/research prior to going looking at cars - Autotrader is a good place to gauge prices although i would always allow 10% less for haggling/wiggle room A good car to learn road craft and repairs but matey - you paid around a grand more than it is actually worth. It might be worth 1450 to you but the reality is you could have brought two of them and had change. |

To be fair, there's loads in that link at about 1500 quid from traders, and most have done far more than his 41,000 miles, so maybe he's not paid too much after all. :thumb:
Auto Trader UK - PEUGEOT 106 1.1 Escapade Level 2 3dr Hatchback 75K, year older and £400.00 - more like the real value. |
I bought a 106 Rallye the other week for 500 quid!
Yeah, really sorry to be harsh, but I think he saw you coming. |
1495 pounds??????
I hope you pulled your pants down before the guy screwed you! I have a stack of stuff you can buy from me if you like..... |
Have you paid the garage yet? Or just a deposit?
Walk away and save your money that's if you left a little deposit |
Please, please do not buy a warranty from the garage, on a car that age it will all be down to wear and tear and pretty much nothing will really be covered!
Save you money, and as ant points out of you have paid a deposit, walk away or try to get it back you are paying twice what it is really worth and that is being kind on price |
Jesus, my Fiat is in the for sale section, 2001 x reg, you could've bought that and still had change!

What is an "emboliser" anyway? Les |
Come on gents, dont you all remember your first car ? Keeping a wise head was impossible, as all I wanted was to get the thing and drive it.
I quite like the 106 model, and Im sure its cheap on fuel and insurance, so well done matey. Like the guys are saying above, next time, try to research the values a bit more, as you've paid a bit too much. But, hey, if you like the car and are happy, then cool. No doubt your going to `improve it` with performance parts etc, all I can say is becareful with the mods, make sure they are safe and look in keeping with the car. Lots of young lads around my way really ruin thier cars with pointless mods, and just become targets for the police. Anyway, well done for buying your first car, try and keep sensible and enjoy driving. When I go my first car, I could stop driving everywhere and anywhere ! :-) Still love it 20 years later :-) Out of interest, my first car was a C reg Seat Ibiza GLX. 3 door, 1.5, electric windows, 45K, black and I loved it ! After 2 years I then upgraded to a Seat Ibiza SXI, in red. Im now in a retro moood, and am trying to find a Seat Ibiza SXI, in red, so if you see one for sale, pm me. SBK |
£120? |
You could have had my 98R 306 GTI-6 for 1800 quid :lol1:
