Default Link ECU for MY99 V5 Scoob

Awesome Link (PossumLink) ECU suitable for MY99 models. This board is a direct replacement for the factory one but allows for a closed loop operation with a lambda probe.

This ECU made a huge difference to my old Scoob. When mapped correctly, there was massive difference in speed and torque.

Bought new for £700, Sell for £350.

Did you have this running on a UK MY99 Turbo? I am tempted but i'm not sure it'll be compatible with my car. Infact i'm not sure if my car is a v5 or v6!! I'll try and find out.

There's no mapping cable or software. I had an experienced guy do the mapping who not only made the car fly but it also had better fuel economy and was utterly reliable.

Hence, it's best to leave mapping to someone experienced at it, as there are so many parameters involved - it's really not a straight forward process. They'll also be able to get the very best out of your setup.

I am an experienced mapper so would be looking for a mapping cable and software. Good luck with the sale!

The picture shows the board with the mapping cable.
The link runs closed loop for appropriate mapping then open loop for normal operation. (At least mine did as mapped by Bob Rawle back in 2001)

I had no idea that was the programming cable, thank you JohnD! It looks like software is available free of charge from the LinkECU website. Being an older version, I'm sure they would send you a copy of the version that works with this ECU if there's no link from the website.

Yeah it's part of the solution from what i've been able to find out. You still need a computer interface (seriallink etc) for that cable to connect to.

JohnD- I think you have your open and closed round the wrong way!

In normal operation the Link does without the MAF and lambda sensor which I was led to believe is open loop.
I had to replace the original board at MOT time as there was little chance of passing the emisions test with the Link and one cat.
