Honda Prelude 2.2 Vtec 4WS JDM import
Testing the water with regard to selling my Prelude.
It is a 1993, K plate Silver Mark 4 Prelude with only 47k miles on the clock (75000km's), imported August 2004.
completely standard apart from a full stainless Apexi exhaust which came on the car when it was imported...looks good and sounds nice...not too loud but a nice mid range thrum. The car also has the rear window tinted and has Recaro front seats..again non standard but came with the car when I bought it.
I had the Cambelt and cam pulley tensioner replaced at Aylesbury Honda in late August just to be sure at a cost of £375.
The engine runs sweet, the brakes are good....standard 15in alloys, bridgestones all round with good amount of tread.
Shes faster than I ever thought one of these would be and easily keeps pace with Civic Type R's and the odd impreza here and there. Handles well with the 4 wheel steering. Body work and engine are in great condition.
The gearchange feels like the car just came out of the showroom and the ride is firm and not sloppy so you can tell the mileage is accurate.
The car came (rarely) with all the Japanese history and log book. I have had her for 2 months and am looking to replace with something a little more expensive hence possible time to sell her on.
She has climate control but the air con pump has seized and I had a belt fitted to bypass the pump. I'm sure it would be possible to buy a replacement or recon pump and have it fitted.
Car also has electric windows, mirrors (folding), sunroof, cruise control and the pioneer jap tape player that came with it.
Looking for £3500 ovno.
Insurance wise...I am 32 and with Liverpool and Victoria..it made no difference that the car was an import over a UK model.
You will not get a better, unmolested example for this money and if looked after will last you for ever!!.
