Bargain UK Turbo Wagon - engine work needed
Bargain 1995 / N UK Turbo Wagon for sale…
Bad news:
- Woodruff key on the engine has gone, damaging the crank. Engine needs full rebuild or replacement. (see thread discussing it on here http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=384221)
Good news:
- The rest of the car is in very good condition and if you are mechanically minded you'll up with a bargain priced Turbo.
Spec:
- 5 door UK turbo
- Registered 07/12/95 (MY96) on an N plate so pre-facelift model
- 157,000 miles
- Completely standard as per original
- Dark Green
- Standard turbo cloth interior
- Electric sunroof (no a/c)
- Original radio / cassette / 4 speaker fitment (works fine but probably of historical interest!)
- 1 previous owner
- Cat 1 immobiliser (fitted by me on purchase) auto triggered by a key ring fob. I have the certificate.
History:
- I bought the car from Castle Motors (Devon / Cornwall border) on 01/10/97 for £16400. It had one previous owner from new and had done 10,000 miles.
- Car was serviced within the Subaru dealer network (barring one service which was done at a Subaru specialist that looked after my Type R) until September 2001 (105,000 miles) when I started using an independent Subaru specialist five mile up the road from me.
- Whilst this is pretty irrelevant from the point of view of the engine now the car has been looked after well as far as other parts goes.
- Most recent stuff:
-- Two new rear shock absorbers last month (whilst abroad working in Germany so receipt in German!)
-- Last service was a 30,000 mile one in June this year (154,000 miles).
-- Had new battery and two new front Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres in Feb this year
- July 03 (137,000 miles) it had:
-- new rear anti roll bar drop links
-- new pads and discs all round
-- 2 new rear Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres
- MOT until 08/07/05
- Tax until end October 05
- No accidents ever. Only one bodywork repair to OSF door where some pikey tried to break into it in April 98.
- Car has been used so it has normal amount of stone chips etc but no scratches / scrapes on the outside.
- Alloys are in ok condition considering age. No kerbing but some surface corrosion.
- Interior - all electrics work, seats are in very good condition considering the mileage with no holes, tears or anything.
- Dash has two screw holes (there when I bought it) from a car phone fitment. These could easily be covered by installing a mobile phone holder in the same position but as I don't answer the phone when driving I've never bothered.
Can't think of anything much else but if you have any questions please just ask. Car can be viewed at Subaru specialist where it is currently residing but (obviously) can't be driven.
Car needs to go as replacement Sti now bought.
£2,000 ono
