History and details
The car was purchased from Millwood Mitsubishi Dursley, Gloucestershire in August 2004. It was their FQ330 demonstrator. It has covered some 18,750 miles in the past 13 months, split 70% motorway, 30% ‘A’ road as I use the car daily to and from work. As financial director of a manufacturing company based in the SW, I have opted out of the company car scheme which has allowed me to use and enjoy the vehicle. The car has been serviced in accordance with Mitsubishi recommendations at every 4,500 miles with the 22,500 mile service completed two weeks ago. It has always been serviced by Ticknells Mitsubishi, Bridgwater, Somerset. Apart from the turbo boost gauge and voltmeter, the car is totally standard and has had no modifications carried out. The exhaust is the HKS Super Dragger as per the FQ spec and the car is not decatted, nor ever has been. The turbo boost and voltmeter was supplied and fitted by Wincanton Motor Services, a specialist Japanese car tuning company.
The car has never been raced or tracked and to the best of my knowledge, my ‘available’ score sheet of 3 standing starts before the clutch fries, has yet to be started. The car is parked on our driveway every night and is insured through Pace Ward, who can provide a highly competitive quote considering the alloys and tint specification on the car.
The anthracite 18ins Speedline Turinis were supplied and fitted by Ticknells at the 18,000 miles service and came complete with Pirelli PZero Rosso tyres. The anthracite colour blends precisely with the graded smoke tints on the back window, visually setting the car off perfectly. The alloys have a full 3 year warranty subject to certain conditions, and one was replaced five weeks ago due to uneven lacquer on the inside of the rim. As part of the 18,000 service I had new pads fitted all round, and the disks skimmed as I was noticing a slight judder on de-acceleration. This has been successful as the judder has disappeared.
The car has been well maintained with no expense spared at keeping it in showroom condition. All receipts and paperwork are available and the service book is fully stamped. All services have been carried out within the manufacturer’s time or mileage recommendations. The car is shampooed and waxed every weekend, and the alloys completely cleared of brake dust and then washed and waxed. Meguiars and P21s products are used as the main cleaning, polishing and waxing agents, with acid free Muc Off and P21s for the alloys and AutoGlym / Meguiars brushes and accessories.
There are a small number of stone chips on the bonnet, most of which were with the car on purchase and had been touched up by Millwood. There is some uneven paintwork on both the back wheel arches, again inherited with the car on purchase, but it is so minor, I have lived with it, but I do check each week to ensure nothing is getting worse. There is a minor blemish on the driver’s door which has been looked at by Dentbuster. It was only visible under direct sunlight and at a certain angle and we believe it is where the glue holding the driver reinforcement panel has contracted, pulling the metal with it. Repair is considered too risky as it potentially could make matters worse, and now the summer is over, it seems to have disappeared all together. If you didn’t know about it you would never notice. There are some light scratch marks on the wing mirror, touched up by Millwood, and a light white scratch on the black window surround on the passenger side. There is a minor paint scratch underneath the front spoiler, possibly where the car has caught a speed bump, but it is totally out of view on the underneath of the car. The front intercooler grill is suffering from flakey coating - I do touch up if it gets too unsightly with some black paint from my old 7. The vehicle is checked every weekend for any additional marks other than those noted above.
The interior of the car is pristine. As I am usually the only person using the vehicle, the passenger and back seats are as new with no marks or blemishes. The leather and suede are good as new and unmarked. The interior and mats are hovered and cleaned every weekend and no rubbish or debris is allowed to accumulate in the car. There are no fittings for car phones, so no screw marks. The boot is clean and virtually unused apart from the occasional briefcase and sports bag. The 10 CD stacker was installed by Millwood and is securely fitted out of harms way and does not encroach upon the space. The spare wheel and tool kit are unused.
The car has always been run on Optimax (99%) or BP super unleaded (1%) and allowed to warm up and cool down after every trip. As my morning and evening trips begin and end with a crawl through town, it is always 10/15 minutes before the car is used properly and this also allows a good cool off after the trip back from work. I have done ten non work trips in the past year, most of which were predominantly motorway.
In car entertainment system
The DVD and Sony audio system was installed by Sexton Audio in Bristol and allows both DVD viewing with headphones or DVD sound through the car speakers. If your passengers choose to watch DVDs via headphones, then you can listen to audio independently. The rear screen is 10.4in LCD widescreen which offers an excellent picture, while the NecVox 7in LCD widescreen is fitted for front passenger viewing. This screen is detachable for added security. There are no screw fixings on the front screen mount as the supports lie within the glove box compartment. The roof mounted screen is secured by 4 light weight screws that can be removed if desired. The Directed DVD head unit sits directly underneath the Sony head unit and therefore fits the double central console gap perfectly. There are 3 infa-red headphones supplied.
Reasons for sale
The car is up for sale due to practicalities. With three growing children, I now require an estate car and something that I don’t have to be paranoid about every time the car goes out. With an improved car scheme at work now offering a full Audi range, now is the time to reluctantly let go.
Price
The car is offered for sale at £20,999 which I believe reflects its specification, condition, mileage, upgraded alloys, tyres and ICE. The Smartnav additional options of safe speed and Trackstar theft alert have been prepaid to August 2006, and the touch screen module enhances the use of Smartnav facilities.
As the ICE is removable from the vehicle, I would accept £19,999 without the audio & entertainment system. This may delay the purchase by about a week, as the ICE would have to be professionally removed by Sextons. I would provide a basic radio/single CD head unit as substitute. I would however need to ask for an appropriate non refundable deposit to secure before committing to this option, for obvious reasons.
The car and documentation would be released only on fully cleared funds. Electronic transfer or cash deposited into my account as we attend are the preferred payment methods. Cheques, including banker’s drafts, would be subject to clearing before the vehicle is released, or with BD, direct confirmation from the issuing bank that the draft is valid.
Contact details
Contact by either private email via forums, through nickejmartin@btopenworld.com or nick_martin@oscarmayer.co.uk, or 01460 238333 (working hours only – mention ‘car forum’ or the call could be blocked – ask for Nick Martin).
The car is only advertised on MLR, Scoobynet, P1woc and Pistonheads as I would prefer an enthusiast to take it over. Due to circumstances I’m afraid I would not be interested in p/x, nor would I remove parts to sell separately, ICE excluded.

tempted, but to be honest its going to be replaced either by a company car, or a subaru, otherwise i would stay with the evo. But thanks for the offer anyway.
I have seen the one on ebay, but there are also a few 330s out there for more than mine without the alloys and antihijack. Maybe its slightly over, but its totally standard, well maintained and never abused, so that must be worth something. One thing I wouldn't do is give it away. And there are 340s selling for c£23k with similiar mileage, so I wait a bit longer until I reduce.

Well time has moved on and with 3 cars on the drive, this really should go.
I am dropping the price to £17,999 fully inclusive of ICE but the mileage is now 29000 with the 27000 miles service done 3 weeks back.
Will not drop further as I think this is fair given its history and condition and the state of the market. If no joy, will withdraw from advertising and wait until the Spring.
