Hi mate the car looks really good.
I have just begun looking for a subaru and I am still trying to come to order with all the versions.
I was wondering where in the pecking order od the old classics does the Type R come and is it a special version?
I have seen the STi 5 and 6 Type RA`s which seem to be the lighter versions with different diffs I believe but would like a bit more info on the Type R you have.
Cheers you can e-mail me on lee@ck-ind.com if you want.

Look on www.sidc.co.uk for model info.
Basically its a 2 door with electric controllable diff, IC water spray, no ABS etc etc... The RA is a bit more hardcore and has less creature comforts and no sideskirts amongst other things. There are further limited STi versions too. The V4 STi is the one which Mr Subaru boss likes best
I had one, great car and quite similar to a V5.

Update
Having received a couple of PM's I thought I'd update this thread. The car is still for sale if the price is right!
Mileage is now 20,100 and it's taxed until October 2006.
3 weeks ago I had a full turbo back Hayward & Scott decat exhaust fitted (2.5" pipework, with angled exit 4.5" tailpipe). The downpipe is wrapped with DEI heatwrap, and I also had a removable exhaust bung made for the backbox to reduce the noise (if desired ). I have all the original parts (catted downpipe, resonated centre section and STi backbox)
The asking price is the same - £11,500, but bearing the above in mind any offers will have to be pretty close to that, as I've put my mortgage plans on hold for a while and so have no immediate need to sell.
And finally, thanks for everyone's postive comments!

That looks lovely. You deserve the asking price, and I'm glad you're not in a rush. I do hope some chav doesn't get it and instead it goes to someone who'll keep it in as good a conditions.
I'm mightly tempted myself - my UK98 looks vey similar, but I have many more miles - but too much for me.

MINT. Basically anyone who is seriously in the market for a Type R will basically buy yours straight away. Wait and they will come. Sadly not me as i can't afford it.

Thanks. Everytime someone gets in contact interested in buying it, I get second thoughts about selling, as even if I were to by another one in a couple of years I doubt I'd find one like this again. I intend to take good care of it for as long as I own it (however long that may be)!
