Litchfield Type 25 (Build No.6)
My car is one of only 39 Type25 Imprezas built by Litchfields to date.
See the current issue of Evo magazine for a glowing review of the current model (retailing for £40,000 OTR without options).
The car is at Litchfield's showroom or you can see it on their web site www.litchfieldimports.co.uk

This car is unusual as it is painted in Obsidian Black Pearl rather than common blue. This is the black with the metallic flakes that makes it shimmer in the sunlight – the best colour available – but then I am biased.
It also comes with the correct Carbon Spec C rear wing, rather than the STi tea tray, and I have fitted 18" PFF7's in anthracite to finish it off. These have nearly new Toyo T1-R's on. I still have the original STi 17" wheels, powder coated black to match the car and fitted with a good set of Toyo T1-S's. The original wheels would, of course, take the Bridgestone RE070's should you want super sticky rubber.
My car has been pampered and spoilt. Always garaged, always fed on Optimax and always having had Silkolene ProS keeping things moving freely. The oil and filter has been changed every 5,000 miles rather than the recommended service interval of 10,000.
I have also improved the specification with the following additions:
* Kenwood 7" touch screen DVD Sat-Nav
* Alpine CD + Alpine iPod link module (and I'll even include my STi pink iPod)
* RoadPilot mini with laser module
* Built in hands free bluetooth phone kit with stereo mute
* A full set of Defi BF gauges (the ones that exactly match the main instruments) in a genuine Defi pod and with the Defi Link Control 2 recording unit
The car comes fitted with the standard RAC Trackstar.
For those that are not familiar with the Type25, it was developed by Litchfields and hand built by PowerStation. It is based around a Japanese specification WRX STi (and so has all of the usual refinements like: High Speed Steering rack, air conditioning, tinted windows, HID lights, rear wiper, etc.).
The chassis is thoroughly reworked using bespoke AST coil-over units with damping and height adjustment (the damping can be adjusted for inside the car/engine bay so no need to crawl around on the floor). Whiteline anti-lift and anti-roll bar kits finish off the suspension improvements.
The engine is an American-spec 'short' 2.5-litre mated to Japanese-spec STi cylinder heads running hairier inlet camshafts and larger valves. An equal length exhaust manifold runs into a sports cat equipped, Litchfield developed, Milltek exhaust system (this is easily the nicest sounding exhaust of any I have heard on a Scooby – it manages to have a lovely deep roar when pushing on and yet, somehow, is barely louder than stock when pootling – you and your neighbours will love it!). The engine breathes through a twin-scroll IHI/Garrett hybrid turbo which uses much larger internals than even the Spec C version. Finally, the ECU is remapped using EcuTek software to give linear, progressive boost with the accent on mid-range performance and throttle response.
To my mind, it is the twin-scroll turbo and ECU remap that transforms this car, removing all traces of lag whilst liberating waves of power and torque. If you have driven a UK spec (even PPP) Impreza you will be astonished at how completely the dreadful lag of these cars can be eliminated. The low and mid-range torque also makes the car a joy to drive around town.
Please drop me a line for more information, magazine reviews or photos. The price is £22,995.
