Lovely Black Mica STi imported to the UK from new in 1998 at a cost of £28,700. I believe that makes it a Type IV. Model is shown as GC8E4ED
It has covered 96,000 miles with a Triton Motorsport rebuild in 2006 at 85,000. I understand this was due to a problem with the third crank bearing.
This is the facelifted model with centre console, air conditioning, electric folding mirrors, brushed effect dash, MOMO steering wheel and white dials. Interior completely standard and in excellent condition. Even the CD radio cassette is original.
Thatcham Cat 1 Alarm immobiliser, with installation certificate. Record of Possibly a tracker on board too if needed also with original reg document present.
Great opportunity to buy an red top engine STi in excellent condition with a FULL UK SERVICE HISTORY FROM NEW. This includes all service records since 1998 and all receipts from 2000. This peace of mind was certainly a deciding factor for me, as I've seen many imports that can't touch this car on condition.
All six MOTs are present. MOT expires August 2008 and is taxed until 31st May 2008
Modifications include Inovit 17" wheels (original 16" wheels available), upgraded clutch, lightened flywheel, aftermarket downpipes and decat centre section (original mid section with cat available). Standard STi Rear Box. Tarox grooved front discs and braided hoses. Most of these modifications have taken place in the last 3 years.
Dorset Subaru specialists Triton Motorsport have looked after this car since 2006, (Prosport in Stockport from 2003) including the engine rebuild at 85,000 miles, which incorporated Motorsport Pistons, and obviously cambelt renewed in that year.
In September 2007 at 93,500 miles the car was serviced again and given a health check and dyno run. No faults encountered with peak power estimated at 273.5 bhp, 1.1 bar, and a particularly steep torque curve. The only other changes I have made are clear indicators at the front (originals included) and a new battery.
As far as I now it has always been run on high octane fuel (V-Power), or with an octane booster in the earlier years. It does around 300 miles a tank, giving a respectable 25mpg plus. I usually use V-Power but if you buy it quickly, it'll still be full of BP Ultimate!
Overall a very sensibly modified and very easy to drive and quick road car in excellent condition. Uprated pistons will certainly make it easier for the faster user.
The number plate was purchased when new by the original owner for £499, and will go with the car, despite its obvious appeal to '555' enthusiasts!
There are 4 former keepers, with ownership changes at 1998(1st owner new),Dec 2000, May 2003, and Feb 2006. I have only owned this car a few months but a change is necessary due to financial commitments. It also wasn't my intention to use it as a daily driver, but I find I am using it more than I intended. I don't want the miles to stack up, and would be happier to see it go to an enthusiast who had the time to keep it in the excellent condition it is in.
I have priced it to reflect the good condition and full service history, there can't be many of these that were brought into the UK from new. The modifications are just right in my view, although there is clearly scope for more. The reconditioned engine together with the colour and the cherished plate are the icing on the cake. It has been serviced, wheel alignment checked, dyno'd and valeted, is full of 102 Octane and is ready to go. Don't miss it, there was a queue behind me when I bought it!
I'm asking £5490 for the car, cat exhaust, and the cherished plate, with an option to buy the second set of wheels. All sensible offers considered.

Not much interest in the car, but thanks to everyone that has viewed the ad and pictures!
Any feedback from those in the know would be much appreciated. Maybe its just a bad time to sell.
I am happy to consider offers but don't want to undersell. What's
it worth?

Briefly! Just to get a taster.
Hope to be at the UJCC meet on 17th. Might even clean the car next time
PS advert no longer up to date - all out of BP ultimate and dirty again!!!!
More importantly the asking price is tumbling! PM if you want to make an offer!!

Good question so I rang Triton, - they said they would most likely have used Wossner, or is it Woessner High Performance forged pistons - German as you might have guessed

Just thought I'd ask... as I'll be interested should my 07 STi goes. I've heard of those pistons, decent upgrade over standard, should give a potential buyer more piece of mind. ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

No probs Grant, good luck - love your car. Friend of mine has just bought a hawkeye and your spec looks like his "todo" list! Sure you won't mind slumming it in a classic?

Oh no, I've had 4 Classics before my Hawkeye... and I quite fancy getting into a few more trackdays so a tweaked Classic is the way forward rather than an 07-plate Hawkeye. ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Good luck with the sale........ the hope is that mine will go, so I can come for a nosey around yours. I'll be in touch if/when that happens.![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)

I think this has been set up for track days so would be ideal.
17s with 40 profiles
drop links
braided hoses
grooved tarox discs up front
green stuff pads etc
exedy clutch
lightened flywheel
runs Castrol 10/60
decat centre section, standard rear box
aftermarket downpipes I think
all very sensible imo
interior standard
engine bay bog standard - green filter only
engine pretty much guaranteed to not let go with these pistons apparently
all the best

To all that have expressed an interest many thanks . Ideally I would like to sell in the next few weeks. All things considered I still believe this genuine straight car is worth £5500 all day long but needs must so, reluctantly
