INTRODUCTION
For sale is my much loved Subaru Impreza WRX. This has been my dream car ever since I went to the Welsh forests in 1995 to see McRae clinch the WRC. Unfortunately personal circumstances mean I must sell......please read on for a full description.
DESCRIPTION
Subaru Impreza WRX, 1997 (Version 3). 276BHP. 12 months MOT, 1 Month tax. 96,052 miles Imported at 55,000km in 2006, speedo then converted to MPH so calculates to 75,152 miles. Full engine rebuild last year to forged spec. Built by Subaru specialists Rowley's Performance Engineering (including Mahle forged pistons, Manley rods, Cometic head gaskets, ACL race bearings). Engine has only completed 10,000 miles. Car has just been serviced (around 100 miles ago) including brand new radiator. New Exedy clutch, which has only completed around 2500 miles. 4 pot Subaru brake callipers. Rota GRA 17" wheels with Yokohama Prada tyres with plenty of tread. Full decat exhaust system including 3.5" open neck down pipe, API ported headers, K&N air filter, uprated fuel pump.
This has been my pride and joy for the last 2 and half years. Plenty of money spent on this example so you don't have to, I have receipts totalling over 6K. The car is in good condition, drives and pulls very well, and always run on Vpower or Tesco 99. I really don't want to sell but genuine personal circumstances mean it must go.
Minor bad points; usual scratches and dings for age- 13 year old car, but nothing major. Brake disks could do with being replaced although they passed mot. Wind deflector has cracked. Black paint wearing off around window surround (easily repairable if desired)
SPECIFICATION
This is the version 3 WRX which came with 276BHP straight out of the factory. This is the same power output as the STI. The car in its current configuration should produce around 290BHP although I haven't had it on the rolling road. It should be easy to achieve 320/330BHP with a new engine map. Please see below for a full spec of the car.
*Engine; Complete engine rebuild at 86,000 miles, all new parts. Engine built by Subaru specialist 'Rowley's Performance Engineering' to forged spec (safe for 400BHP plus). Engine block re-bored and honed. Mahle forged race pistons, Manley forged con-rods, new crank, Cometic head gaskets, ACL race bearings, new cam belt, new water pump, new uprated oil pump, new oil modene, new uprated fuel pump. K & N air filter.
*Exhaust system; API ported headers, RPE sports 3.5" decat downpipe. Japspeed decat centre and back box.
*Clutch; NEW genuine Exedy clutch fitted at 93500 miles.
*Brakes; Upgraded to Subaru 4 pot callipers, Godspeed disks, Mintex pads. Spare set of Ferrodo pads (used, came with the callipers when bought)
*Wheels; 17" Rota GRA gun metal/black alloys. Yokohama Prada tyres. Plenty of tread left. I have the original wheels too should you want them although tread depth illegal on a couple.
*Steering wheel; Momo race fitted but also have the original 3 spoke Nardi steering wheel.
*Body; STI spoiler and rear lights, face lift model.

I'm looking for £3,250.....A bargain when you consider the engine build alone cost me around that! Most classics are high mileage now and it won't be long before a 3k plus rebuild is required. Save your self the hassle and pain!
