STi V/type RA

I am very interested!!
Please e-mail me (neilgomery@yahoo.co.uk) when you have pictures available.
I am only down the road in Pompey, and have the next week off of work, so could arrange to look at it when it suits you.
Would you prehaps be intrested in p.x. for a MY96 std. UK turbo?
cheers,
Neil

Congratulations John.
The car looks like a beauty. Make sure you post some nice close up picks from all angles of the car, as it is, in stock form, for me to drool over, when you get it. I've always wanted to see pics of the STI 5/6 type RA in factory spec. There have been a couple in members gallery in the past, but they've either had the stickers removed or something is always missing. So if you don't mind, post some for us as the car is, in factory form. It looks great in the picks above.
Cheers,
Wrexy.

Due to circumstances beyond my control my beautiful Mica Blue STi V/Type RA must be sold. She is completely standard apart from a set of thin spoke gold 17" alloys with new SO2-PPs (front) & low wear SO2-PPs back, installed a Kenwood Mask 10 CD system (v.nice) usual toys, sorry equipment: limited slip diff, water spray, stupid reverse sunroof, short throw box, alloy body bits etc. etc. A 1999 T reg, with 26k on the clock, full Park Lane Service history (original supplier), owned from new.
I'll post a pic ASAP, looking for a sensible offer over 13k.
Email is g.watson@preferred-it.com

Embarrasing considering I'm a techy, but whats the syntax for getting pics up on this thing? (the
BBSCode.asp page gives a 404!)
If it is very difficult they are at:
http://www.team-percymitchell.com/scooby/scooby.htm
I've got em in 3000x2000 if necessary.
Peanuts, give Neil G a shout, I can't do part ex - sorry!

HK,
no I don't work for DV8 (who are they?), it's an old handle.
Yup viewing etc is welcome as long as you're at least a little bit serious about buying.
The reason for sale is simple and complex, as a part owner of a small business I'm out of pocket anywhere between 5 to 10k per year unless I run a company car, and guess what - no-one will insure an imported Imprezza for company use (well not reasonably anyway), so I now have the looming threat of a rep-mobile (I wonder if I can get/insure a P1 for a reasonable price?????)

DV8 - even though you are not interested in the p.x., I could still be able to stump up the cash if the car is right, so I would still be interested in taking a look at it if this is possible??
Looks nice in the pics!!!
Peanuts - May still be selling the car if you are interested, it is a white standard UK turbo saloon on a N plate, with approx 48k, just serviced with new belt. However no a/c and no leather.
Can try and take some piccies if you are interested?? P.S. whereabouts in the world are you??

I have just bought it.
I drove all the way to Southampton from Manchester today. God i am knackered, but it was worth the effort.
Thanks for seeing me at such short notice Gordon!

thanks guys, my sport goes in an hour. Thats a sad event for me as it has been the reason why i got into subarus and the reason i met so many fantastic people. It's still the most under rated car on the road, the STi should be something very special though!

I hope John enjoys it as much as I have!
Although I'm a pit peeved to only find out yesterday there's a mod to make her oversteer rather then the mild understeer you get.
Hopefully I'll get another Scooby sorted, if not I'll let you know so you can at least take the mickey!!
Cheers chaps.

Thats the first mod on the agenda, a day at powerstation to get the bump steer and geometries setup.
I am sure i am going to love the car, it's been well looked after by an enthusiast! Thats always a good thing!

Will do Wrexy.
I am going to keep the car completely stock too, i think cars like this should be left alone rather than messed with. I'll just do the odd little improvements like get the geometries setup to improve the handling.
Depending on how i find it, i may install some AP 4 pot brakes up front, but i wont be using it on UK tracks so that may not be required.

Wrexy,
the large (getting on for 2ft x 1ft) plastic WRX sticker has been removed from the centre of the boot. Mainly cos I thought it looked like a 3 year old had made it, and they just peel right off. Apart from that she is as God and STi intended (wheels, alarm and stereo excluded). A chap at work who drives Cossies was trying to persuade me to add a water injector (give you another 100bhp mate!!), but like John I think the getting on for 300 is adequate, and handling is a more sublime pleasure.
That said there does seem to be a nagging voice in my head (no not her!) constantly going "go on just a few more BHP, you know you want to!"

wow, is this car fantastic. It's just so easy to drive at a good pace. You were right Gordon, 5th is a nice overdrive compared to the first 4, which are very low geared.
It's getting the wax wizard treatment Sunday, i'll post some pics afterwards.
It was a pleasure buying from your Gordon, no bull, just a straight forward, honest deal. How refreshing is that!
Hope your not too gutted!

Can't go wrong with the Wax Wizard. It's going to look great John. My car is also in sonic blue and I used the Wax Wizard stuff on my car and it came out magnificent.
Looking forward to those pics.
Cheers,
Wrexy.

John,
it is a bit special, isn't it.
Got my hands on the beast today, got her for 4 months(ish).
Pics a bit small, but if you carefully count exhausts....
What is wax wizard?? The car already has a TST coat on, which works brilliantly, not sure if a wax would add anything.
