I am selling this turbo which will be available when I have a replacement fitted - should not be more than a few weeks at most.
It is visually identical to the standard TD04L fitted to the MY99/00 Impreza. It has a larger compressor wheel, and cut back blades on the turbine side. It has been on the car for about 6 weeks, and it is great as a road turbo.
Full boost of 20 PSI arrives at about 2700 RPM in top gear on my car and holds to about 5000 RPM. At 6000 RPM on my car it will hold 17 PSI and drops to 15.5 PSI at 7000 RPM. Peak torque of 290lbft was present at 3000 RPM at PE which is very impressive for a larger turbo. Intake temperatures at 20 PSI are comparable to the original turbo at 17 PSI. Of course there is less back pressure too leading to lower in-cylinder temperatures.
I could also supply a nice Ecutek map to go with it![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
It is rated by turbo dynamics to run at 22 PSI/1.5 bar and has not been run over this figure - most of the time at 19 or 20 PSI.
I can include the Turbo Dynamics warranty and build note with which it was supplied.
It works on the standard ECU with a Dawes, but with a remap has the potential to run about 300 BHP and 300 lbft at Power Engineering. My figures were 290 for both but since the fuelling and timing have been tightened up.
The retail price for this turbo on an exchange basis is £495. I will offer it for £400 plus carriage and you are of course getting a turbo out of it. If you want to give me your old TD04L in good condition I will give it you for £350. I can accept the turbo after you have had chance to fit it so you are not without car. It is fully rebuilt by Turbo Dynamics so reliability will not be in question.
Since I am doing more track work I would like something bigger, as despite the fact I always go on about low boost thresholds, I tend to use high revs, so time for something a bit bigger.

just to add that I have been in johns car in all it's stages of tune and as a road car it is super smooth and goes very well
.
it is wasted on john as he keeps thinking he owns a honda.had I wanted an all round compromise I would have looked at it myself.
