With great reluctance my beloved Scoob will probably be going in Top Marques soon, but I will put it up here just in case there's any interest. It will hopefully be making way for a Westfield and a runaround.

- MY00 4 Door in Silver Mica
- V-reg (January 2000 registered)
- Sony CD Head Unit
- Colour-coded sills, bumper strips and front bumper 'wedges'
- Subaru door strips
- 29k Miles (mainly motorway use for commuting)
- Full Subaru service history, including 1 year Body service
- 6 months Subaru warranty
- Clutch replaced at 24k miles by Subaru under warranty to cure 'judder' problem, so only 6k on this clutch
- 6 months tax

Optional Bits (I may sell them seperately):
- Scorpion 4" exhaust
- Sub/Amp in boot consisting of 10" Vibe sub in a wedge enclosure, and a 150w amp. This is all held in place by a 12mm false floor, carpeted and made for quick removal.

It is due for the 37.5k service next month and I will either get that done beforehand or give the new owner a cheque to cover the cost of that service.

It has never been on a trackday and the oil & filter has been changed every 3500 miles. I am the second owner, the first owner was a friend of mine so I know the history of this car is impeccable. There are a few small stonechips on the bonnet (as I said, motorway mileage!) but otherwise the car is very tidy indeed.

Offers around £14k Based in the Northwest. For more details mail me as per my profile.

Cheers

Whip

Whip,

I was wondering where you had your sills colourcoded and if you dont mind me asking how much did it cost you, I am in the North West and want the sills on my MY00 doing but was quoted somehting silly by Subaru about six months ago which put me off.

Cheers and good luck with the sale.

Chris

ps. What sort of runaround are you after, I know its a long shot but the girlfriends selling a Corsa GLS, excellent little car and fantastic on petrol especially appreciated when also running a Subaru! W Reg, 32k, Elec Windows and mirrors, sunroof, PAS , Airbags, blah blah. Like I said long shot but you never know!
s'later.

Hi m8

I had the sills done by a friend of mine who runs a bodyshop, it was about 160 quid. He is based just off M6 J24, if you want further details let me know.

I am after a runaround for between 1-2k, so I suspect the Corsa will be a bit more than that. Something like an old 306DTurbo or a 106 diesel, Xsi or Rallye. I've had Peugeots before and like the handling, and feel quite at home working on them myself. But the idea as I said is for something that is very cheap on fuel, tyres, parts etc and can be parked anywhere without worrying about it. My plan is to save as much wodge as possible for a year or two and keep my eyes open for a nice westfield, as I have my bike for kicks in the meantime.

Cheers

£160 sounds very reasonable considering Subaru quoted £350!! If you could let me know the details that would be good, it will be a couple of months before I get it done but its handy knowing where to take it. Much appreciated, cheers.

Trade value for the Corsa according to Glasses is £3750, however we are not trading it in for another car as we are going back to a one car family. We are happy to let the car go at this trade value and of course would love someone to buy it privatly at that price rather than a trader getting it and adding another £750+. Its in great condition and has been well looked after, if buy any chance you are tempted then great, if not I hope you get sorted.

Hi m8

The place is called Art-N-Body, 01942 711133. Sounds like a tattoo shop I know, but he has done my scooby sills/bumper strips, and previously did some work on my 200SX with excellent results.

If you want to meet me up there sometime (might help get a happy price) let me know as it's only 3 mins from my house.

The corsa sounds good, but I am after something that I can buy for cash, as the idea of selling the scooby is to build up some savings. Good luck selling it though, sounds like a nice little motor.

No offenced but are MY00's really worth £14k?

I have a "mint" DBM MY00 with 18k miles, FSSH, 17's, full magnex etc, I would love to think it would be worth 14k but thought mines was worth about £12.5k

Good luck with the sale tho

I would have thought 12500 would be around what a trader would offer you and then he would sell at 16000 which can be seen in every weekly edition of Auto Trader.

According to Glass's Guide excellent condition should fetch 14200, down to only 11650 should it be in poor condition ( Probably Auction Price should one be available there ), however I shouldnt imagine any proud scooby owner allows theres to get in to poor condition or lets it go via Auction.

The only reason I keep my eyes on these things is cos I plan to keep my MY00 for another 3 years and save my **** off aswell, not sure what I will replace it with just at the moment, may be another Scooby if they rectify the styling. According to Glass's MY97 R reg should trade for around ten so that we will be what I expect to get for mine at that time.

I am sure you will sell around this price, just a question of timing really, good luck.

Chris

It appears the value of Scoobs in general is being hard hit now with the low price of euro import WRX's. I've been trying to sell my MY00 for the last couple of months but have now given up and decided to keep it and run it even though I'm doing 700+miles a week at the moment.

FYI, my dealers told me that the trade value of mine was £11.5k, it's a DBM with A/C, WRX rear wing and Prodrive backbox, covered 38k on a W-plate. Not a bad mark up seeing as how they were selling it on my behalf with a sticker price of £15995. For that price you can almost get a brand new import WRX.

Hope you get what you're after for it though, 14k is still cheap money for one of these cars.

No offence taken m8.

As it says above, I'm looking for offers around 14k, so the price is open to a bit of haggling. I've priced it based upon what similar cars are going for in the Auto Trader by private sellers. My scoob has been looked after both by myself and the previous owner (a friend of mine) and is a good clean example.

Excuse me asking, but where did your buyer see it and did you get round about the money you were looking for?

Buyer saw it in the Auto Trader, got a phonecall first thing this morning from a trader and he came to view it at work during lunch.

Here comes the tricky bit, as I don't want to say how much I got for it! Let's just say I got around the 13k mark. I was going to re-tax the car and pay for the imminent service, but both of those are now being paid for by the buyer, so there's a few hundred extra in my pocket too.

Realistically I could probably have got another 500 quid by selling it to a private buyer, the guy knew what book value was on mine but was willing to pay more as it was a very clean car. However I can do without waiting in all weekend for people to not turn up, and all the obvious rogue buyer/carjacking risks too.
