Brake upgrade

MY'98 turbo. My question is: is it worth getting a set of 4 pot calipers/larger discs etc for my car? I've had a set offered from a '00 Scooby from GradeA Subaru with fitting kit etc for abt £350.
Would I notice any difference?
Would I be better off having just the calipers, and fitting uprated discs/pads? If so which ones? Fast road use/ towing only No track use.
B4 anyone says Godspeed, Brembo, AP full kits, I can't afford a grand at the mo.
Already have 17" MY01 wheels.
Lastly, are braided hoses really worth the outlay, and why?
