Rather than spending 2 grand plus on 4pots and wheels, have decided to send the 4pots back and perhaps buy a second hand WRX. Judging by most for sale posts on here an autotrader add will be necessary but thought I might as well post details anyway:

MY96
Silver
49K Miles
17" Speedline Super Tourismos (Prodrive centre cap-got to add at least £500.00 to the value although slight kerbing on 2
Scoobysport backbox, de-cat centre and down pipe
Full Leather bucket interior out of a MY99
Quickshift
FSSH (goes without saying really)
Fog Lamp protectors
Clear Side and Front indicators

Excellent condition all round - very few stonechips, always garaged, an ideal 1st scooby for someone (as it was for me)

Have been offered £8,500 - £9,000.00 from a dealer as a trade in.

Anyone interested please post or e-mail as per profile.

Cheers

Chris

Chris,

That's a superb trade-in value, i'd take that cos i don't think you'd get any better selling privately plus it takes away all the hassle.

Tony.

Visiting dealer on Saturday, will post details then.

I think it would be a good trade in also although the car I'm looking at is slightly overpriced (MY01 WRX at £18,995.00 has a dent in rear panel - weren't these only £21,000.00 brand new?) so its all swings and roundabouts.

I've also seen 96P and 97R at dealers for between £11-12,000.00 so they're still earning nicely out of it.

what you are looking at here is not necessarily a good trade in. He is offering you 9k off the price of a car that is 2-3k over priced in the first place.

would be interesting to see what he would pay if you werent going to buy from him. That is the real measure.

PS i'll give you 15k trade in if you buy my MY00 for 35k!

I know it's overpriced, I did mention that above, but it does have the PPP (which I've been told is about £1,400.00)

Listers- are these imported, if so, don't really want to go that route, strugling with insurance as it is

If I can get £9,000.00 for mine (lets face it, nobody is buying these at the moment, it could take months and months privately) and he'll take £18,000.00 for the car and chuck in a headlight conversion (£500.00), would that be a decent-ish deal?

Any views comments much obliged.

For those of you still interested I had a test drive in the WRX on Saturday and decided to buy it.

Dealer is the Welch Group in Cambridge. I managed to get the price reduced to £17,995.00 (MY01, bucket seats, only 5K miles with PPP)and they gave me £9,000.00 part exchange for my car.

I wanted them to pay half for the light conversion on top but they would only offer up a 10% discount. To make sure I couldn't get a better deal I walked away (and they let me), retuned 30 mins later and went ahead with it. Looked like a bit of a prat, but small price to pay for knowing that they wouldn't do a better deal. Although I did manage to get a set of clear indicators thown in as well

Hopefully picking the car up on Saturday, has anyone got some piccies of what a Blue/Black Mica car will look like with the Prodrive headlight conversion (not the Moretti one).

Cheers
