It was a nice motor the first time you had it up for sale.! Shame you couldn't take my offer then. I ended up buying a ropey V in the end which I sold at a significant loss.
Good Luck, and don't take no nonsense from traders - Be patient and it will sell.

I would just like to say I've been in Howards car and its very very nice (not to mention bloody rapid). I've known howard for the best part of 4 years and he treats his cars with complete respect.
If I wanted an evo - I would not hesitate in making an offer for this car.
Best of luck with the sale m8.

Hi Howard !
XTR is coming on a treat - its down off the chassis stands on saturday we will be able to roll it onto the driveway for the first time. All those people who try really hard to look in the garage when they walk past will get to see what we've spent our weekends doing since may
Bodywork is now all trimmed and fitted and ready to go off to the paint shop. We'll be fitting the hayabusa engine in this weekend (not before a few modifications to the fuel rail, throttle trumpets, clutch basket and idler gear - ummmm TTS do some lovely bits for busas)
I *really* *really* hope we may be able to get it SVA'd in 5-6 weeks
now that will be fun.
take care.
Ian.

Howard,
Perhaps if you stated a price that you consider fair for the car, and get a MOT now, thus proving to any potential purchaser that the car can and will pass the relevant UK tests.
I don't think many people will want to part with serious amounts of money on a car that has effectively got only 4 months MOT left on it. (I know it hasn't got a requirement for an MOT and therfore doesn't have any MOT at this stage, but I trust you get the idea).
To an outsider it could read as though you are dumping it prior to attempting to get it through a UK MOT, that maybe it cannot pass.
You don't mention if the car has an SVA certificate. Is this not something all imports need?
I have non idea myself, but if your description gave more detail about relevant documentation regarding the cars UK legality, to enlighten a perhaps like myself ignorant (on these matters) public, you might get some interest in the car.
Good luck selling it.
Cheers MTR

Surely the car would be illegal in the UK without an SVA certificate! So one would presume that there is one.
Also if you were buying a UK car that was 2 years and 8 months old, bearing in mind that several MY99/00 Imprezas have been for sale, would you expect them all to have MOT's before being sold.
I'm not suggesting that this car should or shouldn't have an MOT, more that I don't believe MTR comments are constructive!

Also the advert mentioned that the car was imported into the UK by Warrender, who specialise in Japanese imported cars. They would have to get the car an SVA certificate before it would be registered with the DVLA.

Andy Tang,
You don't feel my post is constructive?
Asking for clarification on price and UK legality of a car which is obviouisly going to be reasonably expensive is not valid?
When buying it would be foolish to 'presume' anything, especially the legal status of something costing 19K.
If the car HAS got the relevant documentation then why has this STILL NOT BEEN CLARIFIED. Or has the new purchaser got to 'presume' all is OK as you would!
The price has now been posted which must be better for prospective purchasers, to make a judgement on value.
As for getting a 2 year 8 month old car MOT'd prior to selling it.
If it was my car and I wanted to get my 19K then for the sake of £30 ish cost of the test I most certainly would get it through the test.
There would be nothing stopping the new owner retesting it at the due date as laid out by the DVLA, happy in the knowledge that it is likely to sail through it.
Howardb,
Clarify the legal staus of the car (SVA,etc) get it MOT'd and I would wager that you will get a MUCH better response to what is clearly a very good car, that should sell easily, but for what ever reason isn't doing so currently.
Again good luck selling the car.
If my suggestions work, then you can buy me a coke on Northern Meet 7. Or bring your car along festooned in a advertising stating its for sale staus.
Cheers MTR

MTR, how many other adverts on this site state this information? I'm trying to sell this car, inline with all other adverts on this site. The car is legal and I hope your not implying otherwise. FFS it was imported by Warrenders, is that not proof enough or would you like to question their integrity too? I would expect anybody wanting to purchase the car to ask these questions by email or face to face when they will be presented with the facts.
