Exclamation

I brought my 98 WRX import with a superchip fitted, by previous owner. I am now looking to remove and sell it - with your help!

I don't want it as I can't aford the insurance on this up grade, but I am also not sure where the ECU is??!!

If you are in the stratford-upon-Avon area then make me an offer, and if pos come and take it out!!

cheers

Cool

I'm not interested in the chip (sorry ), but you can find the ECU under the carpet on the passenger side of the car (where your front passenger's feet are). I think there's a plate over it too.

HTH

You might be better trying to buy a standard ECU from someone on here, and then selling your superchip later.....

If is is a replacement chipped ECU then you will need the original to put back in. However it could be the piggy back box in which case it is fairly easy to remove. You will have to remove the bleed valve of whatever boost controller they have installed though.

Typically they are chipped to 16psi held, about 1.1bar. Which apexi guage is it? Do you have any non standard hoses around the turbo area, possibly with a bleed valve on?

Thanks for the help so far people!

I had the other half on his kness again (poor lad ) and whipped the ECU out of mounting bracketry...it *looks* like a standard Subaru one (original Scooby markings & manufacturer info). We had the top off it too, and there are no piggy back chips within the ECU either....so I'm guessing the stickers were there for decoration / bragging rights.

There aren't any extra pipes around the turbo as far as we can see, no bleed valve or extra gubbins around the wategate tubes...other than a T-piece for the Apexi gauge.

Sorry to get anyone's hopes up for a superchip!

Not such a bad thing. Import WRX pre bug-eye were 280bhp anyhow. A superchip ontop of this would not be wise.
