Hi Simon,
On the occasions I've used it things have sold well and I've never had a problem either buying or selling.
Also useful to keep up to date on the prices things are commanding![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Cheers
Neil.

I've bought and sold loads of stuff on here and find it very good. I've found it's very good for car parts etc but other stuff, such as registrations seem to stay around for a while.

It seems that very few cars get sold on the BBS and if they do they are bought well below book price.
As for parts and other items it seems very successful. I even sold my garden shredder on here![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Very good ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I'm always keeping my eye out for a bargin![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Bought and sold loads, including a Prodrive rear spoiler (Which I think was for sale for about 5 minutes
)
Also my Defi gauges I snapped up within a few minutes also.
Bestist bit about Scoobynet IMO, (The wife don't agree though
)
John
So far (touch wood) everyone I've dealt with has been honest and genuine aswell.

The only problem is, as discussed many a time - due to the invisability of the forum ( its not like phoning someone up from an ad ) is the constant wrangling about price..
Apart from that great !

Both bought and sold items with no problems ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
One thing I would say is that this forum gets a lot of volume and items can disappear rapidly onto pages 2 and 3! Is there any chance of it being broken down into subsections at all? i.e. Cars, Car Parts, Non Scooby. Or something better![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

I managed to sell my MY00 through here
Think it was just a combination of good price and finding a buyer at the right time as others have lots of trouble.
I've bought a few other bits on here and had no problems![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Simon,
I have bought most of my car from the For sale pages![Stick Out Tongue](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
and the few bits I have sold have gone quite quickly.
Have never had a problem![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I think cars and plates hang around because there's not as much interest in them (most have already got a Scoob with perfectly good plates
)
I think the key is to selling is to price it right. No-one wants to pay over the odds so if your selling do your home work!!!
Iain.

Another problem is for smaller items (less than the size of a car
) there's an element of trust involved as the purchaser has to send a cheque to the seller, which they then bank before sending the goods. I don't see a way around this apart from the buyer and seller meeting up and exchanging goods and cash, but it's not always possible due to disparate locations. Perhaps some sort of payment escrow system using a trusted third-party would be better (third-party confirms payment to seller and holds it, seller ships item to buyer, buyer confirms receipt to third-party, third-party releases funds to seller).

I bought my Sonic Blue Scoob off this forum.
Would've had no chance getting the car I wanted if this didn't exist.
Oh, also just sold a Dawes too.
Agree that there's an element of trust, but if your intended purchaser is a regular, I'm sure they wouldn't risk not paying if they're well known at meets etc.
Well worth while keeping this forum.

Its usually not bad, the only thing that gripes me is that when you put a price on something that you know it's worth the amount of people that usually try with silly offers is unbelieveable.
However 9/10 times selling stuff is quite easy, buying is too never had anyone rip me off yet, but most people on here are quite trustworthy![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

It all depends what you're selling at the end of the day.
As has been said already - I think it would be beneficial for all if there were sub-sections. This is a very popular forum and, as such, it seems you are constantly trying to place your ad back near the top. It sometimes takes just a couple of hours before it disappears onto the second page.
Great job being done anyway.

Both bought & sold - no probs.
Sub sections would be good. Also a payment method like Billpoint or Paypal.
Also valid comment about trusting. I seem to go by the number of posts (like a rating)
Alas

Also sold my car on here yesterday![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Bought & sold on here. Be quick as snoozers are losers most of the time. Cars not so good...
Q.
Why is webbie wanting to know? Is it so that he can charge commission? Or a fee?
If so and it is to support the running of SN, then I am in favour of that, 'cept of course a small fee only![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Also bought and sold without any real problems. Had a bit of trouble with an item that was damaged in transit and took months to sort, but that's not really the forums fault, and it all ended ok in the end.
Sold my car from a post in the wanted section too, for pretty much what I wanted for it.
Thumbs up fomr me, but categorising would certainly help.

LOL @ puff, the conspiracy theorist (sp?)
The reason is.. this forum gets so much traffic I'm trying to think of a way to split it up a bit / add other sections / services, possibly make a competely seperate classified section of scoobynet off the board. But wasn't going to bother if it wasn't actually working.
Thanks for the feedback guys
All the best
Simon

When I ordered my STi earlier this year the deal was dependent on me being able to sell some of the bits off my MY97. I shouldn't have worried. I advertised the full scoobysport exhaust, AP 6 pot kit, and Prodrive WR spoiler on Scoobynet on a Saturday afternoon. Within 30 mins I'd been deluged with emails and had absolutely no problems arranging deals and collection.
Obviously the above were popular parts, but I know that I scan the For Sale forum most of the day looking for bits that I want. If you don't get in quick someone will always beat you to it! I think mega-stream nearly bit my arm off to get that spoiler![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
